This board and CT main site didn't resolve for me for 4 hours. I even called Eric and left the message.

Was it just me or everybody had this problem????

nice tongue in cheek... on the thread title serge ... jerk

what you mean by "resolve"?
i've been on and off over the past 4 hours but didn't notice any glitches
you might want to re-post this in the support section... in Eric's priority list...
i would imagine he keeps tabs on support inquires more often then general discussion

"resolve" is the technical term you as a web designer should know by now.
Google "resolving IP" and you will be a pro as far as "resolving DNS" is concerned.

Thanks for the answer, seems like the problem was on my end, most likely router somewhere got out of comission.

TX, Florida....both South USA.
Eric's server is in Seattle, we both had bottleneck somewhere:
http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=trace&host=cellartracker.com

most likely in Dallas

sorry my bad...
i still had my Birbrair-designer-labeled tin foil hat on and not my web guru fedora
good to hear it was a temporary glitch
god forbid you miss out on any pressing developments
thanks for the enlightening lesson btw, on the usage of "resolve"
it's cool that you remembered my birthday...
with me being born yesterday and all... jerk
Choosing to use a general techie description in short-hand when addressing a demographic that is made up of  a majority of people outside of the web dev world... was an excellent choice.

There have been many times lately when the page would take a while to load for me. Eventually it would get there, but it seems to be intermittent.

Sounds like 2 things here:
  • J2K is just seeing slow performance on occasion. I agree. There have been times under heavy load where the site has been slow. That is something I am working on, likely a big hardware upgrade in the future.
  • Serge and Galvez likely had DNS issues. The true test for them would be in browsing to http://69.90.129.153 worked whereas http://www.cellartracker.com didn't work.
