Quick question for those in the PA/NJ area: Is there any interest in forming a casual wine tasting group that would meet periodically to exchange and taste our favorites and new finds? The goal would be to broaden our horizons a bit and enjoy a wine we might not have had otherwise. A friend of mine is the owner/head chef of an excellent restaurant and I'm sure he could be convinced to set aside space and perhaps even tailor some menu items to complement what we bring along.

I know we're all super busy between work, family, etc but reading this forum has me wanting to taste more and enjoy more.

The location would be the Lambertville, NJ/New Hope, PA area -- about 45 minutes north of Philadelphia on the Delaware River and 90 minutes from NYC (or 60 minutes from the Wine Library!)

Let me know what you think.

Peter

At best I'd be in NJ once a year, but if I can ever be there when you have an event I'd consider it a privilege.
I remember New Hope - it's a nice area.

Colonel, I'm honored. Please don't hesitate to contact me before your annual visit. It would be a pleasure to try and find something "colonel-worthy" from the cellar.

I have been thinking about starting a group in the Flemington, NJ area.  (About 14 miles into NJ from New Hope, PA) I've been talking to a BYOB restaurant that might be interested in hosting. Rather than just siting around imbibing: I'd plan a theme/topic, possibly assign wines to bring, maps notes, invite trade representatives, ... would like it to be informative but not at all stuffy.
Any interest?

Sounds great. I pass through Flemington all the time so the locale isn't a problem at all. We could easily rotate restaurants as I know the owner/chef at the Lambertville restaurant would tailor meals to our selections if we wanted. Your approach sounds a bit more formal than I was thinking but if it involves wine and food count me in.
