I'll believe that it is a trend if in September at the next auction I attend, wines are not being sold at such inflated costs.   I originally started going in an attempt to get older wines at a bargain.  Instead I see people with too much money spending too much on wines.  We'll see if that starts to slow down.

I face the same problems with some of the retailers that boast "top-end" wines in Singapore actually. They are generally improving, but I still find that you have to pay a premium at the more established fine wine places to ensure good provenance.
