Hi Eric,

is there any way to opt out of all the wiki “i “balloons at the top of a wine

description.. country, variety, region etc etc ..

so that the wiki articles just appear at the bottom

I find them to be a real distraction that interferes with the look of the wine etc

if it is not possible to turn off just the stuff at the top,

is it possible to turn off all of the wiki stuff for a user, so that all of those balloons would disappear.

would it be possible to put it as a part of display options such as “hide wiki data“

which would please include the hiding of the “i“ balloons

Thank you so much,

Michael

Michael, I did receive your email to the same effect. I will consider this for the future, but for now no there is no such option.

I too find the extra "info" icons distracting, and even a bit irritating. I would very much like to turn them off.

Ditto. I really dislike the wiki info in general. Im sure there are alot of people that like it but it just looks overly cluttered. I have limited the wiki articles in the options menu but would love to see an option in the future where i can get rid of all the wiki info.

just my 2 cents...

Oh, I quite like the wiki info itself, and would want to keep on seeing it, at least now that it's lower down on the page than the location when the feature was first introduced. It's just the icons in the wine header that bother me. Obviously allowing it to be a choice would ultimately be the better option.

OK, the masses have spoken. I will further tweak the UI soon. Thanks for the feedback!

Heya Eric!

In the future, will we be able to track what Wikis we edited? I would love to see a listing of Wiki edits on the home page just like there is a listing there now for tasting notes, etc.

I noticed I can see the wiki change from the "Any Edit" option, but, it comes back with a Invalid Wine #0 for each wiki entry I made.

Thanks!

I fixed this one up: http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=345321

I think it would be useful if, when users are adding details of importers/distributors, they put the country: Cellartracker has an international user base.

Actually, I wonder if it might be better to discourage listing of importers, distributors, retailers and automatically copy the wine-searcher links into the wiki section?

Do you mean switching off the wiki balloons?  If so, hurrah!

I wouldn't load the Wine-Searcher links. IMporter/Distributor info is useful to put in there in many cases, as they often have excellent information about the wine (in some cases more extensive than the producer published info).
