When I walked in the tasting bar sign said open (around 8pm) ... I walked around for a bit and by the time I got back around it was closed.  I picked up a bottle of the 84 Kopke Porto Colheit, very nice (nutty).  Next time I will look out for you.

I took a long walk trying to find it but couldn't. I finally asked someone directions and it was still 20 minutes away. It was 8:40pm then so I gave up. I should have been smart and printed out your map.

The next day I did hit the LCBO in Atrium on Bay. I picked up a Barolo and Amarone that are unavailable here so that was a success.

I'm back in Toronto in September so I'll take a cab this time :)

Status: offline 		I picked up [and drank] the 2005 Pierre Amadieu Vacqueyras La Grangeliére from the LCBO last night.  At $22.95 it definitely has a decent QPR and the CT community notes are quite positive.

Status: offline 		That's just the name of the field in the Wantlist, the wording of which I have no control over. It was presumably designed by Eric to hold the highest price someone adding a wine to a wantlist was willing to pay for the wine if they could find it. However, I am using it for a purpose it wasn't orignally intended, so the wording doesn't quite match up. I am just using it to hold the LCBO price.

Status: offline 		As a matter of fact I created a placeholder for such a list a couple of days ago here:

However, there are only the six wines from the first page on it now, and I will not have any time in the next couple of weeks to do any work on it at all. I will gradually add more wines to it as time allows, but I can say pretty confidently that none of my Classics lists are ever likely to be complete, as there are just too many wines and not enough time. My priority is always going to be the bi-weekly releases (I've just started the Aug 30th one), and I have to ration my time.

Nice to “meet” you the other day.  Thank you for the suggestions, the Irony chardonnay went great with a sunset and some friends.  The Fogarty Gewurtz was a pleasant surprise --- tasted quite Alsace, but didn’t cost it.  I also tried the Weingut splatlese … outstanding.

Whoops! I forgot to mark the list as public. That  has now been corrected, and it should be accessible now.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as you on the Classics catalogue, and can't give you much advice. We very rarely get a chance to taste any of them, unless they choose to run a tasting special event and we happen to be one of the people selected to pour at the event. I haven't really had a chance to even look at the catalogue beyond a cursory scan, so I donnt really know much about what's in it yet.

Hate to take any credit for Brants very hard work --but his list (as least a lot of it ) is available for Sept 27 release

look at the Sept 13 URL -- and you can figure out how to change the date ( hint - hope you keep this consistent for future releases - ... hint hint - wink wink ) as it allows me time to go thru and add WS scores and make my initial list subject to my wine guys at the Roundhouse final OK.

I have admire the work -- since LCBO seem to be adding a lot of wine that existing cellar tracker users don't own - are there really that many undiscovered wines ? Hope you guys will buy one and post a taste note

This release has a WS score of 71 - can anyone find that wine ...:-)

And yes, it is my intention to keep the URLs following that identical pattern, so you should be able to find it even before I announce it. Usually I start working on creating the release list sometime the preceding weekend, and its usually finished and announced mid to late in the week a few days before the release.

Normally I would only make my formal announcement after I had added all the ISDs as well, but there are about a gazillion of them this time, so it is unlikely that I will have time to do them all by Saturday, although I will make the attempt. The very large number of ISDs is due to a sudden influx of of a large number of different wines from Veneto, intended to plug what had been a gaping hole in the Vintages shelves, although there are the usual selection of products from other places as well.

I am away next week, and am a bit busy in the early part of the week after that, so it is possible that the Oct 11th release might not be quite done by release day, but we will see how it goes.

Status: offline 		I noticed yesterday that while the release catalogue says the Christian Moueix Pomerol is from 2006, what we actually have is a re-release of the 2005 vintage. I've updated the list to reflect that.

lcbo # 573709 WS at 71 -- one of the lowest rating I have seen in a while :-)

I find enough bad wines without going looking for one ...:-) I never thought about it ... it is juts i see so few WS scores that low
