Might be a good idea.  Why don't you try to get hold of stevetimko.  He was wondering if he should bring all his wines. Certainly one of you could exchange a sticky for a red.  Alternatively, I can bring a different one given we have 2 Baumards.  Just let me know...I'm game for anything.

Looks like we are a little light on the Pinot Noir side of the equation.  Take out the stickie and I'll bring an 06 Sea Smoke Southing instead.  how's that?

For friday night, I'll hit a local shop during the day and pick up a bottle or two to bring to Eric's place.

Craig,

I would love to taste the two Baumards side by side on Saturday so do bring yours.  If Friday's main course is acutally going to be salmon (fancy that in Seattle), then I can bring something more appropriate rather than the BdM which might overwhelm the salmon.  Let me know if salmon is the choice and if you would like me to swap the BdM for something else.  No problem for me besides the Poggio Antinco probably needs more time.

Looks great to me fingers.  My cellar is so old world that all of these are new to me.  It will be a pleasure to taste them.

Michael,  I believe salmon was the protein last discussed, and will likely be more manageable with a smaller group.  And I will bring the Baumard Clos Ste. Cath as I believe Rob was going to ditch the Sauternes for a Pinot on Saturday.

Bob, I, too, am looking forward to trying your wines as my cellar is weak on anything Cali except for Cabs.

I'm getting very excited as well--especially now that the palpitations have subsided from the reduced numbers.  Eric sent me a nice email to calm my frayed nerves and prevent the ulcer which was starting to form   You all reassured me as well...thanks.

I may bring a Pinot to Eric's as well as the Corton Charlemagne, either a Bergstom or a Burg to be determined.  I think 4 wines in my suitcase will be as much as I can handle.  I called Delta to see if I could bring my wines with me and gave them the rare & expensive line--no go.

Fingers, the Dead Arm will be there.  It was drinking very well when I had it in April.

Craig, should I bring something beside the Poggio Antico (Sangiovese) for Friday?

Four bottles is about all I can fit into my suitcase as well.  Space and weight will quickly become a problem and I am not really interested in paying second bag or over weight (suitcase that is) fees.

If space is limited and you feel the Poggio Antico may need more time, it might be reasonable to bring something you feel will not overpower salmon.  I highly doubt it will be a meat-oriented gathering as Eric keeps Kosher at home and meat can complicate things.

That being said, anything you bring will be appreciated and enjoyed!

Certainly better with salmon than a young Brunello.  I only hope my nephew has a decanter because it will probably need it.

I dunno - I had that wine a couple of weeks ago and didn't think it really needed a decant.  Of course I enjoy seeing how the wines evolve in the glass so that might factor in to the equation a little.

The numbers need to be finalized by noon, Sept 2 according to our contract.  I put an email out to Eric today to get an update on any new tickets but have not heard back from him (he will likely be too busy to respond today).  Now that the tickets are through Paypal, I rely on his updates for the numbers as I do not have access.  I know we have 1 new ticket today with BlueShorts as he was holding out to sort out some work conflicts.  He will be coming to both events.  As of my last update from Eric, that puts us at 34.  I'll likely be able to update further tomorrow.

Ok, just spoke with the caterers and they are going to recalculate our expenses based on the new headcount.  We'll be able to cut out expenses on rentals and staffing so all should be well.  Makes me feel a lot better.  Now I can start thinking about enjoying myself.

Jeez Craig/Rob/Michael, I hadn't really been watching this thread because I didn't think I was going to be able to get up there, but now seeing the lineup I question why I don't just find a way to make it work. Kinda hard with a 19 month old at home thought...

Maybe I'll see if I can convince the wife tomorrow...either way, have a great time and post pics and recap

ed, the headcount is about 40.  Bring whatever you like.  If you want to compare/contrast or fill in some gaps, look back a little on this thread and there is a partial list compiled by folks who have declared their bottles.

Look forward to meeting you.
