OK, working on a PayPal page now. Here is a LINK TO PURCHASE TICKETS for Saturday. (What's included: access for one, glassware, bottled water, and the menu shown above.)

There will be a more low-key event on Friday at my house. No tickets required for that. Details forthcoming soon.

Alright, the formal ticket sales are on their way at last with 6 purchases in the first 15 minutes. Please do formalize your Saturday RSVP soon by purchase tickets here: http://www.cellartracker.com/ticket.htm
That will really help us to wrap up the planning and make sure that will have a great event.
As mentioned before, Friday will not require paid tickets, but first dibs will go to those who have paid for Saturday.

Eric,

I don't know how PayPal works.  How will you connect the payment to the attendee?  Do we need to bring our receipt?

I saw your payment for 2. It would not hurt if you printed a copy of the confirmation mail to bring just in case, but I am building a list to have at the door for Saturday night. And more details from Friday are forthcoming soon.

You won;t see a record of your payment online on CellarTracker--the site only knows about the annual subscription payments and not these 'event tickets.'

Cathy, Do me a favor and send me the emails of the attendees about a week before the event, and I'll try to round up folks to pour in hour shifts. I'm guessing one person can man a table of about 12 bottles.

Quick question: About how much is a cab ride from the area of the airport to where the event is being held?

We can do that if you want, but you might just want to query the folks on the forum and get a handful of rotating people--just so someone is at the table keeping a little order.

Sorry about that, Craig! I don't know where I came up with the idea that you were a Cathy ... maybe because I'm used to the women being the ones that usually step up to the plate and get the job done!

While you all enjoy your weekend in Seattle, I will be celebrating my daughter's Bat Mitzvah and would like to get opinions on what wine I should serve. I will only need 2 cases of white and one case of red. I will be able to return what we don't drink, but will probably just keep it, so I would like something about $15/bottle.

Red 1/2 case Cab, 1/2 case ?????

white 1 case Chard, 1 case ?????

Thanks

Manischewitz Malaga, of course.    You can probably buy a gallon for $10.

OK, everyone who has expressed interest in this thread or via email should have just gotten an email from me. I am trying to pin down numbers for Friday and Saturday and get tickets booked for the latter. Moving down to crunch time now.

Received mine and you should have my response signing me up for two on Friday.  How are the Saturday bookings going?  Anyone else from Texas coming?

I still expect to come. Something has come up work that has given me pause and I should purchase a ticket for one for the main CellarTracker! event by Friday.

Great!  We will have to try and figure out how to meet in Seattle.  I don't think I have met you at an offline before.  Funny how it might take Seattle for us to meet when we are only 200 miles apart.  Do you get to Dallas all?  We can always pull together and impromtu offline if you do.

Fellow CTers,

OK,  we now have only 2 weeks before the big event!  Thanks to all who have responded.  We look forward to meeting you.  For all who have not yet purchased your tickets but are intending to come, please do so this week so we can give the caterer an accurate headcount.

Again,  looking forward to seeing you all,
Craig

Of the 90-100 people who originally RSVP'd we have only 33 purchased tickets--way off our original numbers.  Not sure the reason for this.  There are still lots of locals who have not responded, but I doubt we are going to get up to the original projected numbers.  I doubt we'll be getting many more out-of-towners considering airfare etc.  Eric will be sending another email out to those who previously RSVP'd.

That is why I encourage all who are planning to come to get your tickets this week.  We need to have numbers finalized by one week from today.

Craig

I too appreciate your efforts Craig and those of Eric.  I am stunned by the 2/3rd drop out rate if that is sustained.  How will that affect the fees for the rental facility and the caterer?  Will they need to be adjusted to reflect the much smaller numbers?  Whatever the case, I will be there and looking forward to it.  The advantage of a smaller event is that I will have fewer names for my senior mind to forget.

He's going to send out a blast to the nonresponders and to locals (according to his email this AM).  We'll likely get some more, but certainly not 90-100.  As long as the caterer is ok with the lower numbers, we'll be ok.  I'm going to speak to them later this week when things are more finalized.  We might be able to have less staff or other ways to cut back with a smaller group.
