And in to the finals we go.....
That was a tough game vs Turkey.
Looks like i'll be grilling some bratwurst on Sunday.

Today is the day!!
Germany, bring home the cup!!
We''ll be grilling bratwurst with spaetzle, red cabbage, and rouladen.
Busting out the Becks, and probably some red and white wine.

J2K - would go with the Becks, best lager by far, but will have to be shouting for Spain as one of my original tips.

Not tempted with a German vs Spain wine match?

Wrighty,
I am tempted, but most of my friends that are coming over are beer and whiskey drinkers. Not to be sterotypical but some of them are Irish.

So you just have to be careful whether it's the Jameson 12 year old, or The Black Bush.

Or Powers - an old friend's favourite.

I wonder who your Irish friends were cheering for.

Hope the evening was a success even if the result wasn't.

Good match, distinguished by a Spanish ability to finish that Germany just didn't have.
Superb solo goal from Torres, and at the other end wonderful goalkeeping from Lehman, best of the night was to keep out an own goal!  (Didn't see the Turkey match, but gather it was a different affair ( http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football-news/euro-2008/latest-news/2008/06/27/germany-keeper-jens-lehman-blames-his-errors-on-arsene-wenger-86908-20622877/ )
Germany had their short purple patch just after half time.
Sadly the Spaniards fell over rather a lot to my liking; couldn't work out the freekick in the Spanish penalty area in the final minute of overtime?
Well done both, European soccer is alive and well, pity we aren't good enough to play it.

Glad Lehmann is gone from Arsenal.  He was like a Porsche which either performed brilliantly or was in the shop needing repair.  And you never knew what you would get when you started the car.

But you have to admit, but for him, it would have been Spain 2 or 3 to nil.

Perhaps he's the opposite of some of the great English keepers - great with their club, but whoops with the National side.
