Haven't tasted but sure looks good on paper (or LCD, as it were)

89.6CT -  eighty-six notes with one low 84 and everything else above 87.  Very consistent impressions and great QPR @16.00

Jacques Cacheux Echezaux 2005. Got my bottles for around US$85 after tax. Not exactly cheap, but for a top class Burg grand cru from 2005 - fantastic, fantastic value. I'm linking my first note on the wine here, retasted it last night, was blown away again, probably going to upgrade the score when I have time to put up a TN on last night's bottle.

I quite agree J2K; a delicious wine. Might have the 2005 this evening!

Happy drinking!

Please excuse my ignorance Paul S. Is this producer the same as/related to "Cacheux-Sirugue"? Burgundy is frustrating and wonderful!

Happy drinking!

I actually have no idea. I have never heard of Cacheux-Sirugue before. Some web research may help.

Bad news though, WS just rated the Cacheux Echezaux 2005 a whopping 94 points. Unusual for WS to anoint a Burg from a small producer with scores like that. I bet prices have soared.

I have only had this at a tasting at this point, but it's near impossible to find good Pinot for under $20 these days, especially from the Sonoma Coast.

At $17/bottle, I bought a couple, and unless they don't show as well as it did in the tasting, this will likely be the "house pinot" for the near future.  They make some single vineyard bottlings as well that are still relatively affordable.
