2004 Chateau Siran Had a half bottle at L'avenue in Paris along with salad, steak tartar, and marcinelle (sp) cheese. Perfect example of how Bordeaux just belongs with food. Pleasant light fruit and earthy nose though somewhat light. With no food I would have commented that it was either closed or too early. However, with the meal it really opened up. Tannins and tastes of cherries, hints of oak, and full earth just came completely forward with just the right touch of earthiness. I really enjoyed it but wouldn't have absent the meal.
