I'm out of my 2004s! Those are absolutely lovely. Very different from the 2005s, which seem to have more structure and focus, but the 2004s are just absolutely hedonistic and drank so beautifully in their youth that I finished every single one early. http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=246254 The 2004 is the only Dead Arm that showed rather feminine, with some mint and floral scents - almost Cote Rotie like in that apect (which you will not see on my notes). Hard to choose between the two which is the better wine, my head says the 2005, my heart says the 2004. Haha, if you are planning to crack open a 2005, you might as well do a 2004 as well! The thing I really liked about the Dead Arms is that they are not your run-of-the-mill hit-you-on-the-head-with-big-alcohol-and-jammy-fruits South Aussie Shirazes. The 2004 is certainly more in your face than the 2005, but it never gets to the overblown stage.
