Time to bump this up again and see if we can get a few more responses.  I am waiting to see who is bringing the DRC so I can grovel at their feet.

I can bring you a $15 bottle of DoveR Canyon Zinfandel if you like.   Will that count?

I'm not really sure what to open but I was thinking about opening a bunch of magnums. I figure as the host I get to open more than 1 bottle if I want to.

I have a LOT of Quilceda Creek, and I suspect a lot of the non locals would really enjoy tasting those.

So much hype around QC lately.  I am curious what it is all about and that stuff is nearly impossible to find unless you are lucky enough to get it direct.

all I need now is someone to sponsor my airfare and accomodation. Anyone? I would love to try a Quilceda Creek. They are ridiculously expensive in Singapore.

Eric,

I for one would support you opening some QC.  I don't have any that I think is ready to open yet and I have tasted very little.  Bought mine from a friend sharing his allocation based upon his recommendation.  Or how about that Pride in the "About Us" photo; although I prefer their Cab. Franc.

So, what will parking really be like in your neighborhood with so many people coming?  Should we take a taxi?  Given the type of event, maybe a taxi would be a good idea.

Come on Paul.  We all know everyone in Singapore is rich and has their own private jet.  Come on over.

Just like everyone in Texas lives on a ranch, has cattle and horses, and carries a revolver (well, the later is mostly correct since we have a concealed weapon law).  And yes, most of our streets are paved.

Let's see now... a digital voice recorder, hidden HD video camera, a pair of fuzzy hand cuffs, a leather whip, two cans of cheese whiz and a pocket full of roman candles... that should cover it

It is amazing what you can fit into a wine tote nowadays.

I want to bring something local as there are a good number of great wines produced in Washington State.  QC and Cayuse get a lot of press but I'd like to bring something that people will be able to acquire without knowing someone on the mailing list or paying 2-3x the mailing list price.  That being said I'm open to requests...

Current plan:
2003 Cadence Tapteil
2005 Soos Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Champoux Vineyard

-Kain

Both sound nice.  Will have to defer to the Washingtonophiles (like rjonas) as have little experience with these.  Either, or, or Both, I'd say!

A 1977 Lytton Springs. I brought one to the In N Out Offline at Vegas and no one seemed to like it. Maybe there was something wrong with it and people were too polite to say anything.
A 1989 Lopez De Heredia rioja Blanc gran reserva.
And an Ameztoi Rubentis, an ass-kicking rose.

I can't make it to Friday's event. I'm doing a Northern Rhone-themed offline (I hope. I have not posted it yet) that Sunday, if anyone'e interested. For that I'm bringing a 1998 Jaboulet Sterimborg and either a 1999 Texier Hermitage or a 1995 Cave de Tain L'Hermitage Cornas les Nobles Rives.

Cadence is a consistently good producer.. I don't think I've ever had a bad bottle.  Never had Soos Creek but have had other vintners that sourced grapes from Champoux.. It's in a great AVA and would be interesting to see how they stack up against Hogue, Januik and other WA producers that source from that vineyard...

I am looking at perhaps a 95 Angelus or maybe a 1996 Cos d'estournel.

Maybe a 2001 Two Hands Shiraz "Ares"

It'll be a gametime decision on those.

Well - I drank the "Ares" last weekend so that's out.  It was pretty good though.

I'll come up with something.  I think I'll need to bring at least a couple.  Maybe a red and a white.

Rob, For goodness sake, don't drink either of those Bordeaux.  I'm already licking my lips thinking about either of them.  At this point it would be like handing me a glass then taking it away right before it comes to my mouth--cruel   A white would be good for variety sake...

Hope you all are having fun with this exercise.

I'll bring one of those two Bordeaux for sure and maybe a Kutch pinot.  I think I will pick up a white somewhere in Seattle that week.  My wife and I actually get there on the Wednesday.  Any good wineshops to visit in downtown Seattle?

Good wine shops in Seattle:  the answer I'm sure is yes but since I live near Boston not sure.  Perhaps Eric can interject here.

RoundersRob,

In some obscure post, Eric had mentioned that his favorite wine shop in Seattle was McCarthy & Schiering.

Here is a link http://www.mccarthyandschiering.com/qa_location.php

I am arriving on Wednesday as well and will probably be dropping by the wine shop myself.  It is so difficult getting enough wine on a flight nowadays without paying an arm and a leg.

I'll check out that shop.  Where are you staying?

I'll pack two bottles in a checked bag.  That's worked fine in the past.

I might also bring a 2003 La Tour Blanche.  I have a 750ml of that and don't know of any particular occasion where I would need that much.  Usually I drink stickies from a 375.

Ok that works.  Put me down as bringing the 96 Cos d'Estournel and 2003 La Tour Blanche.  I'll probably also pick up some random white at a local shop.

A few other good wine shops for the out-of-towners to try:

Esquin  http://www.esquin.com/
Wine Outlet http://www.seattlewineoutlet.com/
Pete's http://www.petes.cc/  (Pete's of Seattle is a tiny place with bad parking, Pete's of Bellevue is much larger, fyi)

RoundersRob,
I will be staying with my nephew who lives about 1.5 miles from Eric's place.  He will be coming to the events with me so I am packing 4 bottles in my suitcase.  Won't have room for much clothes I guess but will try to fit them into my carryon.

Where are you staying?
