Maestro,
Can you reiterate when and how you will be communicating for the tasting.  It is unlikely that I will be able to partake in the talk but I'll try to get away for a time if possible.  We will be staying with some friends for the weekend and I insisted on bringing the wine.  Little did they know that they would be participating in an historical event.  Craig

For the live event (Saturday, August 16th).
1) I am now on Skype under the ID "maestro_ct".
2) Search for "maestro_ct" and ask to add me as a contact (make sure to send your details to me when you do that -- it is the default behavior of adding a contact anyway).
3) I will build the contact list using that ID, as people add me as a contact.
4) On Saturday, from 11am PT (2pm ET; 7pm UK; 8pm CET) I will open a chat conference with everyone who has added me as a contact. Between 11am and 11:30am I will be adding anyone that goes online.
5) At 11:30am PT (2:30pm ET; 7:30pm UK; 8:30pm CET) we start tasting.
6) Anyone left behind just send me a message on Skype and I will add you to the conference.

A reminder that the drinking window starts tomorrow, and that the live event is on Saturday (see previous posting).

I leave tomorrow afternoon for a conference in Copenhagen so I'm "forced" to open both my bottles tonight. Decanting mere yards away from as I type this are the Produtorri and the Brunello.

Hear hear.  Great idea for this tasting.  Had the Langhe last night.  Drouhin tonight.  The decanter is going to get a good work out this weekend.

You're all welcome -- thanks for joining the tasting.

Had a taste of the Langhe last night and consumed the Drouhin, apart from a glass or two that were saved for tonight's live event.

It will be interesting to compare TNs, but the fun is in the tasting and knowing that a bunch of people all over the world are opening the same wines.

The 4 wines are showing really well. They were chosen based on the criterion of availability, but for those of us opening 3 or 4 bottles it is turning out to be quite a feast...

Niklas, so you dont feel left out why dont you post with us but tell us what you had - a kind of secondary on-line tasting.  Just make sure you open some good stuff.

It's definitely very cool to be drinking the same wines, at the same time, as other people all over the world and chatting about them all live.  Very cool.  We must do this again soon.

Thank you all for joining and especially to those who joined the live event. I will try to post a selection of the "best moments" of the chat tomorrow...

The 4 wines showed very well... Looking forward to the TNs on Monday (try to create events as well, if you can).

Now we need someone to host the next event in October...

No we don't. You organised one PERFECT event,
great wines selections, and if this is not too much bother, I nominate you for the permanent host position.

I second Serge's opinion.  I have only been able to try two of the wines so far because of work interruptions, but both them showed far better than I expected.   I would love to have Maestro make the next set of selections.
