LA Times cancels Wine column

I'll believe that it is a trend if in September at the next auction I attend, wines are not being sold at such inflated costs.   I originally started going in an attempt to get older wines at a bargain.  Instead I see people with too much money spending too much on wines.  We'll see if that starts to slow down.

Don't worry Paul, sounds like you have been drinking some decent wine of late [image]http://www.cellartracker.com/forum/image/s2.gif[/image]

I'm finding out that even the low end auctions are too high end for me!!

My problem with auctions is absolutely unknown provenance.

Paul S -> RE: Sign of the Times? (7/21/2008 8:51:14 AM)

I face the same problems with some of the retailers that boast "top-end" wines in Singapore actually. They are generally improving, but I still find that you have to pay a premium at the more established fine wine places to ensure good provenance.

Sorry for the triple post again by the way - don't know why it keeps happening.

Same with Benchmark but I seem to have been lucky so far.

I like Benchmark and their daily offerings, and like you, I was lucky so far.
