Can't seem to find the Greysac, and the Masi only in 2004 and 2005 vintages. May well get one of the younger ones for comparison.

I might end up with the 04 Masi myself.  I've seen them everywhere so I am not very likely to drop down the funds for shipping on an 03.  I have just a couple of places left to check for the 03.  I will say that I do like the treasure hunt aspect of these little tastings.   :)

Surprisingly, I found the Greysac today, took some looking on the shelves but there it was. All the Masi's now seem to be the 05, will continue to look though. Still got to have a serious try for the Guigal, think I'll do well to get 3 in the end though.

My last place to check resulted in no 03 Masi.  I might end up with the 04.  Still a decent amount of time to search though so we'll see.

I found a 375ml of the 2003, but at a ridiculous price of USD50, after a 15% discount!! What a rip-off.

Seems to be quite difficult to find the Masi 03...sorry, it was what I have in the cellar and it didn't occur to me that what's in the shop now is 04 and 05! How many have actually found the 03? Don't want to be the only one popping it in about a month

US$27.... Thanks for the heads-up. There's no way I'm going pay over US$50 for that!

No problem.

Your post made me double check what I paid for that, because I didn't think it was that expensive.

I bought a 375ml for $28 from Amazing Grapes.  They may still have more:

Bob,

Have you gotten the Beaucastel and the Guigal yet?  If so, from where?  I have actually found them in 375 format at two separate online shops, but that means double the shipping costs, so I am weighing out whether I can find 750's down here for cheaper or equal to what I would pay for the 375 plus shipping.

Thanks

PS - I took my first trip over to The Wine Club on Saturday.  I like that location MUCH better than the San Francisco one.  Staff seemed helpful and they have a decent selection.  Still looking for my "go to" shop down here, though.

Jeremy,  I do have the '04 Beaucastel and have not really looked for the Guigal or the Greysac.  Hey, why don't we hook up for a little non-Virtual tasting that weekend?  Share the cost some and maybe you have some Skype experience?  Save me from figuring out how to use it!  Any other CT'ers in Orange County wish to join?  I know there's a few out there...

Rob, Bruce (Blue Shorts), and I did that for the last one, and while completely geeky in that we all sat around the table with our laptops, it was good fun and saved us all a ton of cash.

Just received a call from the "friendly" local PA wine shop. Two bottles of the Masi just arrived for me to pick up. If anyone wants one let me know. I'll let you know the specific cost but I recall it being reasonable.

I just got my Beaucastel today! 50 euros for a bottle of wine...not many that I've blown that much money on yet! Hope this isn't one of those wines that are just fashionable...

Which means I'm set, I have all four now. How many others have managed to get all four?

Don't need to worry on that score. Had a bottle about a year back - if that was anything to go by, and if has not shut down completely, this will be a marvelous wine after a longish decant.

Okay, picked up my two bottles of Masi which means I can now offer one bottle for $41 plus shipping (which nets me a grand profit of $.01).

First come, first served.

I have two (Masi and Greysac) and know where I can get 375's of the other two, but am trying to determine which is cheaper, the 375 plus the cost of shipping vs finding a 750 locally and just picking it up...

By the way, I found a 2005 Masi Campofiorin recently for like $10 as a little preview to this.  Not bad for the money.  I am looking forward to the Amarone.

Yeah, Stefano, I've been wondering about that myself. I've been stocking up on 375 ml bottles with screw tops to put half of each bottle into and then into the fridge. I intend to open two on Friday (Beaucastel and Amarone) and two on Saturday. That way I can spread the load over several days! We are however three drinking the wine...

Went to Kappy's today (a big store where I don't usually shop) and WOW, sitting on the shelves for me was the Masi, The Greysac, and the Guigal Gigondas.  I haven't decided whether to get the Beaucastel yet as it is pricey and of all the CdPs is serious infanticide.  I'm in business though...

I am hoping that by having a 375 of the CdP that the infanticide will be reduced to childicide.  (does that make sense?  I am half drunk right now)

Your eloquence is unparalleled! Good idea, I'll see if I can get my hands on a 375.  I'm still thinking of the '90 Beaucastel Eric served at his house...so good

All I got from that bottle was some dirt.  I think a few people were Bogart'ing it.

Still can't find the Guigal.  Well, actually found some online but the cost of delivery was the same as the wine.  I went to the local shop and bought an extra bottle of the CdP instead...

Picked up a 375 of the Beaucastel today.  All I have left to get is the Gigondas, which is at a wine shop not too far from me.  Probably pick it up just before the event.

Can't wait to try these out.  It will my first experience with wines from 375.  Will be interesting to see if those of us tasting from the 375 will find differences from those tasting from 750.
