No that's only 15 minutes.
You should have guessed I'd be nearer Sandhurst.

You mean Bracknell?  I used to live around there - the single most utterly soul destroying place on this planet.

No, and not Wokingham either (although I did once).

Paul - you work in Swindon all week and can still think of somewhere more soul destroying?  And what is it with car journeys and music, that's your second post on a similar theme.

As for team strips I've just helped a mate out in Wales with team blazers (red of course) for the Welsh National Sheep Shearing team who are now in Norway for the World Cup - so, yes can do the strips!

It made me laugh - talk about cliche!

Don't suppose it's that much different from a rodeo though.

Haha - great, looks like I will have to grab something on the way down to contribute as well. I will let you know my travelling schedule by first quarter 2009.

By the way, I am also planning a trip to Burgundy and Southern Rhone around that time. Anyone interested?

Now if you go to Burgundy first we can all help you taste your new acquisitions!
May need a few days as a few themes are emerging:
1.  Chateaux and their second wines (Las Cases and Clos du Marquis)
2.  New World joint ventures (Almaviva 1997-2006)
3.  Maestro's class on the best of Italy (he doesn't know about this yet)
4.  Paul S collection from Beaune to Rhone
5.  Paul J provides the music (I'd rather have Bohemian Rhapsody than a Lambrusco* honest).
6.  Wrighty is in charge of team strip - any colour but red is acceptable.

L.

*  now I'm going too hear there are some good ones I expect?

Hey - what happened to wine by the glass at the sampling place?

Lambrusco is horrible... End of story. No mercy, no redemption.

Judging by what the Colonel has in store it looks like I'll have to take two weeks off just to fit all this in.

I'll tell the wife I'm just going on a wine bender for two weeks with a bunch of guys I met on the internet.  It all sounds so seedy!!!

No, nor Hook or Hartley Wintney.

Thanks for the confirmation Maestro, although I suspect this is one we'll all agree on.

And Paul can you rephrase "wine bender"?

I think it is an appropriate phrase given that it involves meeting men I only know via the internet.

For all I know this could be some grooming website.

Or of course you could all be extremely hot ladies feigning interest in wine geeks.

Have I got my camera on;
or could this be the biggest case of wishful thinking since Gordon Brown thought being PM would be great fun?

I am under no illusions.  All I imagine are a lot of slightly chubby old men sitting on their own in front of a computer in a dark room while the real world goes about its business outside.

I've stayed at the Bracknell Hilton more times than I can remember and have to agree with this characterization.

Hey, I resent that! Chubby maybe, but old, not quite yet.
