I posted a longer reply, but CT lost it.  (good quality chat on the few pages I read)

Anyway a day later and wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was one painful day, this must be what 1929 felt like.
Hopeful it's not going to end the same way.

L.

PS  I shall stop complaining that my wine didn't go up in price much last quarter.
If it had been like the DOW I'd have had to pour one in three bottle down the drain.

Can we rename this thread WTHHHT The World.?

Wine nowadays is the least of my worries.

I'm actually waiting for the NYSE to open in an hour and a half, just to see if the freefall will stop.
Those pictures were rather sad.
Don't envy Obama (or McCain).

Doesn't seem like a great start (or end - depending in what part of the world you are in) to the day.

Time to sell some wine, or do you think the wine market will hold?

Which is probably the best chance of a happy ending at the moment - time to finish last night's bottle!

This is the time to be in wine, or gold, or anything except paper (esp. that written by banks!).
A little apartment in Princeton is looking like a better idea by the day.

They've been threatening to build new appartments in Paul Robeson St/Ave adjacent to Palmer Square for about 10+ years.
It's one of these I covert.
With the sub-loan crisis and builders profits crashing I thought they'd be keen to sell.
Didn't ever get a reponse to the enquiry I sent.
Anyone near Princeton who knows whether they actually built the places?
