Bill,
Now it is I who must be grateful.
I am indeed younger than O'Toole and Sharif (but play Bridge worse than Omar): surely most of the male world must fit between the two in personality.
I suspect we all like a drink?
Yes taller than 160 cm (now I know you're a real European, you didn't say 5' 3'')
And I have some hair, although less each year I note.
I joined you and became a European when Blair joined Bush hunting for WMD's in Iraq (been pretty proud to be British until then, bar the odd Colonial mistake) - he couldn't even accept he was wrong!

Colonel.

Typical British understatement.  "The odd colonial mistake"

I thought of entering 160 cm in feet and inches to keep you puzzled.
But with my "high school English" you would realize sooner or later that I am not a native speaker.
And if it makes you feel more comfortable: During my studies I interviewed a lot of older people from one of your former colonies in Africa and many of them missed the British. “You could trust them. When they hired you, you were sure to get paid. And now, when you’re hired by one of our own, you can only hope you will be paid.”
Bill.

I hope I'm not included in that (well HK actually) - although I'm obviously biased when it comes judgement on the matter.

Think we'll have to let Colonel and Bill have an hour or so together before any European gathering.

You may find that some of the better wines have, what's the word "evaoporated", no that the Angel's have had their share.

Great idea Wrighty! Someone has to check if the wines are corked, and I don’t mind doing that dangerous job together with the colonel. I’ll bring my wife to pour our glasses and call you when we are a 100% sure we can offer you only wines without any flaws. You’ll be grateful that we checked and double checked the best wines I suppose. Only the best is good enough for my CT friends. And it is for your own sake. I don’t want you to get a delirium.

Cheers,
Bill.

I'll bring along a couple of the monster hand made Reidels for the testing job.
Have to extract every drop of nuance from the wines.
Trouble is I can get a whole bottle in just my glass, and I'll need some for Bill?

Somehow think the corked rate will be unusually high but the job sucks and someone's got to do

Thanks guys
