Hi Eric,

So here's the new idea:  I often like to go back over My Consumed bottles and old TN's and look at what other notes have been added to said wines, although I may no longer have them in my cellar.  Could we add a reporting feature for "community tasting notes on wines I've reviewed or consumed", sort of thing?  Maybe in a future release?

Thanks for your support...

Bob

Hi Fingers-

I would LOVE this feature.   I have asked Eric about this repeatedly, to the point I was worried I was being a pest.

read this thread:
http://www.cellartracker.com/forum/m_4020/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#10380

it's strange (and most unlike Eric)- he says it can be done, but never really explains how.    To me, it would make the TN feature much better.

Often I only have one bottle of wine, and while it's in inventory, I can see others TNs.   But, once I drink it, I'd still like to read TNs from other people to see what they thought.   I can't figure out an easy way to do this, but it sure seems like it should be doable, as all the necessary database "elements" are there- just a matter of matching up the right lists....

Thanks for sharing those sentiments.  I'm hoping that Eric is considering some of these options for the next update.  The other big one I've been harping on is the bottle size issue and the number of incorrect bottle sizes recorded in inventory.  I'd pay a dollar for that.

I would love this feature ... I often go back and click on past wines I've posted a TN for to see what others thought.  I would use this feature constantly.

And another:  Would be interesting to see a "Users by Region" report.  I guess that one doesn't fly with privacy issues, but maybe Eric could generate an annual report with a bunch of this general kind of information for us OCD'd trackers.

Thanks to others for chiming in on the above ideas, too.  Perhaps we'll reach "groundswell" proportions.

Well, no reply yet.  Anyone?  Eric?  Buehler?

Noticed that Eric is planning a redesign for next year.  Maybe some of these ideas will be incorporated

I will add it to the list. The way the "notes on my wines" is computed is a little tricky to alter, but I do hope to change it to allow a toggle to show it on wines in stock or ALL wines I have ever had in stock.

That would be sweet!  I find it hard to believe there hasn't been a full-blown article on your efforts with CT in WS yet ... what gives?  CT's contributions to the wine-geek members of the world is unprecedented!  This CT "machine" just keeps getting better and better.    (I assume there hasn't been such an article in Decanter, WA, or IWC either, but I don't subscribe to those so I wouldn't know).

Great job, Eric!

I would like a report to track my time in the forum...on second thought, maybe not.

The WA and IWC don't really do that kind of writing. Decanter has done passing mentions of the cellar management software category but no mention of CellarTracker. I have met with folks from the WS in the past but no press. Maybe they think I am a competitor? Or just too small and irrelevant?

The best coverage has been from the World of Fine Wine, very fine, balanded, detailed coverage there.

The article in World of Fine Wine is what brought me here.  This site has done more for my wine education than any of the publications.  I am a new kid but already spend too much time here.  Someday I may even get all my wine uploaded.  Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Eric- that would be great.   This is the feature I would most like see added and would use it all the time.   Thanks in advance!
