Hi,

My wife and I will be arriving in Seattle on the Wednesday and will have Wednesday and Thursday night dinners somewhere in downtown Seattle.  Anyone else from out of town, or in town, want to meet up for dinner on one of those nights prior to the event nights?

Rob

Hey - I taught her everything she knows!  Wait - you are talking about tasting wine right?

I will arrive on Wednesday as well.  Were you thinking of a BYOB place or something else?  Not sure how many bottles I can fit into my checked suitcase.  PM me if you want to disucss.

the regular suitcase http://www.ebags.com/claiborne_luggage/city_glider_29_expandable_rolling_suitcase/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=76341&productid=964251&sourceID=NXTAG00001
takes about 12 bottles comfortable wrapped in buble wrap, socks, T-shirts, jeans, and underwear.

Take it from me, you need MUCH less clothing than you take. Men and even women, don't give a damn what you wear, women ALWAYS more concerned with what THEY wear.

Hey Serge,

The problem is less the fitting and more the weight during these times of usurious over weight luggage charges.  A case of wine weighs about 36#; the suitcase 13# which leaves about a # for not much padding around the bottles.  Everything else has to be carried on.

Not really a BYOB from my cellar here.  I'd probably hit a local shop during the day and bring that or order off a list.  More of just a friendly dinner.  I'm not too familiar with the restaurant scene in Seattle so I am open to suggestions.

That's one bag. Clothes in another.  2 carry-on's and we're there!

My wife and I are arriving Thursday so we may be able to join you Thursday night.

I'm currently trying to deal with work travel that could interfere with this trip, but I'm hoping that I can work things out with management.  I'm not above giving bribes.  Details to follow.

Serge - I seem to remember some post you started recently about Richardson Sauvignon Blanc and "cat piss" being a desirable smell - I think knowing you carry less clothes (recycled underwear??) and wrap your bottles in your skivies, these tasting notes are now starting to make a lot more sense...

"...The 2007 bottling had a musky, cheesy-nose (very reminiscent of Southern Florida Jockey Shorts on an warm August day) prior to opening the bottle, which threw some of the panel for a loop, but on opening fully expressed its cat piss presence..."
