Wow, no new features for more than 2 weeks. It just goes to show you what a busy patch in your day job together with a busier than normal social calendar AND a really annoying headcold will do. Anyway, I'm back at it and try to get some things wrapped up before I go on vacation for two weeks. BETTER SIGNUP EXPERIENCE With quite a lot of help from my friend Justin, we have overhauled the signup experience. - When guests initially browse to the site, they see a much more friendly and professional page that describes the benefits and functionality of the site along with testimonials from users on the eRobertParker bulletin board. If any user wishes that I not include their testimonial, please let me know.
- The UI is clearer now with more obvious buttons to click and a smaller textarea to hold the terms and conditions. The actual signup screen shows fewer options in a more appropriate order.
- Post sign-up the user is taken to a page with helpful links, Q&A and next steps. This last screen is now always available by clicking on the logo at the upper left.
FIT AND FINISH - I cleaned up a glitch in the wine drilldown page that would occur when browing the site on a Treo or PocketPC.
- The member signout link is now more prominent and takes you directly to the intro page.
- When editing inventory, there is now a button to return immediately to the wine drilldown.
BETTER HELP CONTENT With help from Pat Lee, I cleaned up and consolidated this help topic on "Getting started with CellarTracker."
