FIT AND FINISH This weekend while traveling I cleaned up a few niggling details that have been bugging me for ages. (1) Now there is a more intuitive button (and prompt) to delete a wine, tasting note, purchase or review. Before you had to check a checkbox to indicate deletion and then submit the change. (2) The find/add wine page now properly distinguishes wines with the same name and locale but different types. There were a number of cases where red, white and rose wines were compressed with each other on this screen. (3) The user listing page now joins to the buddy table and suppresses hyperlinks for high/paranoid users unless you are their buddy. These used to show links that would then lead to a permissions error if you clicked on the link. (4) The wine drilldown page did not properly show purchases, inventory and consumed bottles to buddies. Now it does. (5) I added a number of tweaks to make my life easier. By default my view onto the wine page is now like any other user (although for administrative purposes I can simulate being anyone's buddy). When editing a wine, I can now suppress my administrative override so that my changes are queued for approval like any other user. The page showing pending wines to review now distinguishes newly created wines from recently edited wines. (6) When modifying a wine, if you submit the form with no changes, I no longer attempt to edit or queue an edit. (7) Proposed global string changes (accents etc.) are now shown in the wine editing page. (8) The new pivot reports were susceptible to SQL statement truncation for some queries. I lengthened the variable size to prevent this.
