This is indeed very powerful, for example: - disgorgement date for champagnes - information on quality of label, e.g. I might want to consume a bottle with a torn label in an informal setting and keep one with a perfect label for a more formal occasion or for sale) - information on past storage history: from time to time if I don't have enough place I have to split a case between my passive and my active cellar, and if a bottle gets upgraded to the active cellar, I might want to have a note saying: stored for 3 years in passive cellar (as opposed to a default of full time in active). I might want to know as well if a specific bottle has traveled a lot. - information on delivery context or batch: indicating if the delivery was in hot weather (sending the bottles back is not always an option) or if a batch seems to be faulty (it happened to me that I bought 6 bottles somewhere and they were great and 6 others had problems...) - other problems with the label: vintage wrongly indicated, vintage unreadable except on cork side, ... - "shelves": it is usual to reserve bottles for somebody, it's a good place to indicate it - "to drink with XXX" or "YYY would like to try it again in 5y" or "ZZZ said he would bhe delighted to have it at a future OL", "bought for AAA's birth", ... ...
