I think John is at his best when writing about Burgundy, the Loire and Germany. Actually I have been surprised by the number of reviews he has on German wines in my cellar--really helpful drinking window advice. In contrast, his view on the 2000 Beaucastel just does not jibe with my own experience with this wine, and in general and think he and I look for VERY different things in Chateaneauf and Bordeaux. I apparently have a more Parkerized palate. Still, John's writing on Burgundy is amazing. Anyway, you have 2 weeks to figure it out.
