v3.6.8 - Some more fit and finish and tweaking. Now when you look at your personal list of consumed bottles, there are links to let you either add or edit tasting notes for each of your recently consumed wines.
- On the Reports page, I added TOP 100 links for all time, 2006 and 2005. There are both community wide and personal versions of the links: TOP 100: ALL, 2006, 2005
- I made some tweaks to the full-text locale setting to decrease the size of the list that users see by default. Now you can also filter the locales based on Country, Region, SubRegion, Producer and Type of the current wine. Andrew continues to make excellent progress on regional cleanup. The following countries have been scrubbed pretty much in their entirety: Australia, Canada, Chile, France, Italy, South Africa, and Spain. And for the US we have scrubbed California, Oregon and New York.
- I also made some behind the scenes performance changes that should help performance for guests browsing the site.
- Also added to the Intro and Press pages: a link to a nice article from the Puget Sound Business Journal. This was also picked up by MSNBC. http://www.cellartracker.com/press.asp
Also, in a stroke of good luck, I was able to obtain two socket licenses to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. I hope to get this tested and deployed over the next month. The main initial benefit is performance/scale, as they claim 25-50% across the board query perf improvement. I will believe it when I see it, but I can say that the SQL folks at Microsoft are truly amazing, one of the best teams in the company. SQL 2005 also has a boatload of new reporting and XML features, so hopefully that will make it easier for me to evolve the site more quickly. Well, that's all for now.
