v 3.6.9
Two sets of changes in this release.
  1. The DRINKABILITY report now exposes an edit control where you can enter an arbitrary date, and the report will calculate based on that date instead of the present day.
  2. I added some nifty new automation toys for barcode users. Now when you have the barcode preview window up, there is a button to print BIN & LOCATION labels. (This can be filtered to the bins from a specific location.) Anyway, these are different from the barcodes which go on bottles, as they indicate the name of a bin in your storage scheme. What is nice is that they ease hands-free operation with a scanner. So for example, you can scan a series of bottles and then simply scan the barcode(s) for a location and/or bin to relocate these bottles. In essence, this takes the bin name from the label, enters it into the right spot on the screen, changes to Relocation, and then submits the request. Please note that you will need to download and rerun http://www.cellartracker.com/barcode.exe to get all of the latest templates. Please also note that this is only functional/useful for somewhat shorter (about 10-15 characters max) bin names.

I should also note that a little while back I fleshed out the system considerably with regard to the per-wine barcode options. In the past these did not work on the bulk scan page, but now they work just fine. I am not aware of a lot of folks using these instead of the default per-bottle labels, but if so these work a lot better now.

Eric,
Where do Mac users stand with this new/modified functionality, since you mention a .exe program...?
Thanks,
Dave
p.s. - It's amazing to see how much things have evolved in CellarTracker even in the short time I've been on board... I really have to push myself to get my inventory data bulk loaded and re-inventory, as this is just getting too slick for words!

Mac users have a semi-automated solution for printing bottle barcodes as described here: http://www.cellartracker.com/forum/Mac_Dymo_Beta_2/m_6389/tm.htm

However, I am only aware of a few folks actually using this. The new Bin/Location labels support CSV output as with the other barcodes. So if there is demand I can create an AppleScript app that works similarly. But Mac users could also easily create their own bin labels manually in the Dymo app. It is just a Code 128 Auto barcode with B_BIN-NAME where BIN-NAME is the actual bin value or L_LOCATION-NAME where LOCATION-NAME is the actual location value.
