Sorry this release note is a little belated. The changes actually went live last Friday evening. After two years of procrastinating, I have finally done a complete rewrite of the advanced query page: http://www.cellartracker.com/query.asp This page still isn't very pretty, but it is highly functional and now a LOT faster than it used to be. The problem in the past was that it would download a HUGE amount of information, because the lists of producers, vineyards etc. on the site are massive. As reengineered now, you instead tunnel to pick from a list, and these lists can be filtered by starting letter. Also, if you have already picked a region, vineyard, appellation etc, then the list of producers is further filtered to just show matching possibilities. Anway, the whole page is just a LOT better. Please note also, that when you are looking at most tabular views on the site, you can usually edit/filter things by clicking on the SEARCH OPTIONS button at the left. One final change. In the earliest days of the site, I made the "Individual Bottle" view have slightly different behavior than other views, namely that users could only view this for their own cellar. However, as the privacy model has gotten richer on the site and as other functionality has gotten richer as well (being able to group a cellar by Location and Bin for instance), this has mostly just become inconsistent. So for example, if someone wants their cellar to be private it can be now, whereas at the time I made these changes that option did not exist. Anyway, I have now made the individual bottle view consistent with the rest of the site. So if your cellar is wide open, now the Individual Bottle view is fair game as well. And if your cellar is private, you have nothing to worry about. It;s always worth pointing out, you can read more about the privacy options here: http://www.cellartracker.com/forum/tm.asp?m=793
