v 3.7.2
A number of people have complained about tasting notes where users only post scores without any textual note to back it up. As such, I have just added an option which allows each user to toggle off the display of tasting notes which have no actual text in the note. This option is 'sticky' for each user and can be toggled in several spots in the user interface. Please note that the community average score still takes all scores into account.

Since scores without notes comprise less than 10% of the overall notes, for the moment I have decided to leave the display of these on. If people continue to feel strongly, I might switch the default so that the display of these notes is off unless a user chooses to turn them on.

OK, I have switched it around so that by default tasting notes that ONLY contain scores are filtered for all users. And now the grouped reports support this filtering parameter as well.

This default filter might also encourage users to post text with scores, so their input will show up... How difficult would it be to implement pop-ups for scores being entered without text, and text being entered without scores, telling the user that his or her post will be filtered out by default, but he or she can get visibility by adding text or score, whichever is missing?

Then they can say, "oh yeah forgot to say I drank it with Bob and Edith, thanks for the reminder!"
But seriously, I think this filter is a really good idea, especially since it can be turned on and off as a user prefers. Cool!
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks Eric. Now, if we could just get people from posting winery tasting notes into the area both problems would be solved!
