v 3.9.6

I just unveiled some pretty major 'under the hood' changes to make the core "MY CELLAR" view a LOT faster and simpler than it has been. On the surface you *should* see nothing different other than faster behavior (on a MUCH more consistent basis). That said, a LOT of code has changed, so there is a chance I missed something. Please keep your eyes out for 'stale' values that don't seem to update after a few minutes in:
There were a few other changes and fixes:
  • Taking advantage of the new caching, I have extended the automatic valuation cascade to be more thorough and to proportionally apply 750ml values where possible. Below is the full valuation cascade from this FAQ: http://www.cellartracker.com/ow.asp?AutoValuation
  1. User entered values matching the bottle size
  2. User entered 750ml values proportionally converted to match the bottle size
  3. WineBid.com average selling price matching the bottle size
  4. WineBid.com average selling price for 750ml bottles proportionally converted to match the bottle size
  5. Community average valuation matching the bottle size
  6. Community average valuation for 750ml bottles proportionally converted to match the bottle size
  7. Purchase price matching the bottle size
  8. Purchase price proportionally converted to match the bottle size
  9. Zero value shown.
The two bolded values are new.

I made one other significant fix. If a user changed their locale eitehr too or from English (United States), their prices and values were not being properly added to the community average price/value cache. I have fixed that big AND have recalculated the cache.

Please keep your eyes out for glitches, stales values in your MY CELLAR view.

Enjoy!

I have fixed a few glitches in this today and currently have the site down for about 5 minutes to update the per-user cache. All is looking pretty good in general though and extremely encouraging from a performance perspective.
