v 3.9.7
I posted these changes last night:
  • I made a significant plumbing upgrade to help speed up the "Bulk Valuation" page. Where before it would time out a LOT, it should work much more reliably now. If people still see issues there is further work I can do here: http://www.cellartracker.com/list.asp?table=BulkValue
  • I made pure plumbing changes to the way that tasting notes and per-wine private notes are stored. They used to live in the same table (although were always separated out in queries). I moved all of the private notes to their own table to help with performance. All seems to work well, but a lot of code referenced these so I might have missed something. Let me lmow if you find any broken queries around either per-wine private notes or tasting notes. Oh wait, I just thought of something missed: full-text searches against private notes. Will fix soon.
  • Publishing of tasting notes to some bulletin boards has changed. I turned off the option to post to the Wine Lover's Discussion Group. They upgraded server software and cannot figure out the security features to allow me to cross-site post. So no point exposing it as a choice. Also, the default board has changed to Tom Cannavan's wonderful UK wine-pages. It is surging in popularity and is one of the most congenial and friendly places on the web.
Let me know if you see any glitches.

The aforementioned glitch regarding full-text search of private notes has been addressed. Code is updated and the full-text catalog is populating now. No more syntax errors, but it may take 3-5 minutes until all the private notes show up in such searches.

Teach me to write my release notes a day after release. One other change. I posted v2.2 of the Mac Dymo printing script(s). The latest link is (always) here: http://www.cellartracker.com/ow.asp?BarcodeProcedures

Now there is a script and template to support the delicious dual-perforated barcode described here: http://www.cellartracker.com/ow.asp?LabelTypes
