Pale gold color, nose has minerality, slight yeast, touch of lime. Palate is absolutely amazing. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Classic Champagne hints of brioche, some green apple, good minerality and an absurdly long finish. Medium high acidity. Still tastes young, but is already ready to rock. If I had no job, a million dollars, and a liver made of titanium, I would drink this every day.

Normal cork. PnP. Tannin were resolved but the fruits were also started to fade. Plum, cassis, and black currants aroma shadowed by alcoholic heat. Fruity palate but lacking in structure. High in acidity. Good with meat but no more.

    3/4/2021 5:20:00 PM - Yes, it has a normal cork. I had two bottles of the same wine same vintage from two different sources. Both bought in 2009 and one screwcap one oak bark cork. The one with normal cork likely to be parallel-import from Australia.

An odd wine, almost like a Burg posing as a white Rhône. Leesy and smokey, with a spritzy secondary fermentation banana in club soda thing going on. 18 months elevage seems like it was an experiment gone wrong for a Bourgogne blanc. Lacks freshness. I’m not sure what the hype is here. Sealed with DIAM, so I’d assume this is the intended creation (some pro reviews speak to this too). Not what I want when I’m reaching for a white Burg.

    2/2/2021 7:42:00 AM - I am yet to try my 18 Dancer Bourgogne. My experience with the 16 was that it needs a lot of air or good aging, even it is just a Bourgogne. From your comment, I will let my 18 laydown for at least 3 years. And I am worried about my Perrieres and La Romanee.

The nose and finish are long and quite nice. Elegant, even. That is undeniable.

But. The palate was primarily notable for its overbearing acid, which threw the thing out of balance for me. Really quite surprisingly so given the vintage, which if anything tended to skew to the other direction.

Also, unless these vines are secretly from some 1er, this is overpriced for what is literally a negociant village wine.

I'm glad to have had the experience, but will not be returning to this producer.

    12/8/2015 8:43:00 PM - It's somehow character in some of Pacalet's wines because he didn't do any filtering or fining. To enjoy it, the bottle must be stand still for days and pour or decant carefully. Just serve it as Bass Phillip!

A well-made Vega RE. It's delicious and most ppl WOTN. Superb bouquet with grand structure and fine acidity. We were all spoiled by aged Vega. Decant or give it at least 6-12 hours bottle breath.

    I just have a few bottles of Vega RE -- all are 750ml. From my collection, there are three types of label, one clearly mentions the yr of release and vintages blended, one has a lot number at the bottom left corner which showed the release yr (lot 07/97 means released in 1997) and the final one has just a lot number without a release vintage.

Open from a magnum and consumed in six hours. Sweet cherry-driven bouquet initially but keep evolve into a more balanced nose. Simple but a little bit sappy and coarse palate. Good structure for a beanue village. So so QPR.
