Raspberry and red cherry on the nose.
Medium acidity and body.
Notes of cherry, currant, and clove.
Potential for some good tertiary flavors as it matures.
I'd give it a few more years.
Too young and too fruity for now.
Could pair well with charcuterie and aged cheese. Needs high salt/fat to balance the intense fruit.

Pop and pour from a 375ml, I should have decanted. The oak is quite evident and the fruit is bold. Despite that, this is clearly a quality wine and a decent Napa cab that will obviously show better in a few years time.

This is Cab at its best. Californian power with bordelais elegance. Dominant Cassis nose with fragrance tones. Sandalwood. A bit mocha. Palate straight into a massive body with constant changing impressions. Spices, fruit, minerals and again fragrance. Cassis all over anyway. Very long finish.

Just past peak, a bit of funk that went away after a couple hours. The tannins are nice w good acid but the overall balance tilts fruity and big. Classic Napa I guess

Still drinking pretty well at the moment. Not sure it will benefit from further aging so drink up as the tertiary flavors of raisin / dried plums / earth are starting to take over.

This is top tier Napa. Perfect blend of old and new school. The fruit is still shining at 27 years. This could age another 10+ years but drinking at peak.

Mostly 1987 Cabernet Sauvignons (Hi-Time Wine Cellars, Costa Mesa, Ca.): Off nose, hot fruit, not unpleasant nose, chalky and dusty muted fruit on the nose and mouth, light/medium sweet fruit in the mouth, taste of dust and dirt on the finish, not bad, not good, too much acid on the finish.

9 months since my last bottle. 30 min decant. Unfortunately this was a slightly off bottle but was still acceptable. Missing the depth and concentration that this wine generally gives you. O well
Checked in on this at hour 4 in the decanter and it significantly improved. Probably not a perfect bottle but much better. Best to give these a ton of air.

Decanted for thirty minutes and served with a Flannery lamb loin. Youthfully dark color. Notes of black cherry, lavender, kirsch, blackberry and potpourri. Full-bodied, with fine, soft tannins and flavors of blackberry, green tobacco and black cherry. Balanced, finishing with nice length. Excellent value here. Domino, tasting double blind, initially thought this might be French, and I can definitely see why. It's a lovely little bottle that's not overly ripe and has fine details and nuance. 91-92 pts, and Domino liked it more than I.

Liquor Barn Tasting-Australia and Robert Mondavi (Liquor Barn-Walnut Creek, Ca.): Big nose of botrytis, sweet riesling, more of the same on the palate, big but simple, maybe age will help.

Liquor Barn Tasting-Australia and Robert Mondavi (Liquor Barn-Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nice, beautiful nose of pears and minerals, sweet fruit, green apple in the mouth, nice finish, good acid.
