4/21/2024 - Blair Curtis wrote: 96 pointsSuper wine. In a lineup of other vintages of Rousseau CdB (served with 2000, 2012 and 2017), the most interesting comparison for me with this one was the 2000. Striking similarities, but the 2000 was more fully ready and a wee bit less structured. The 2001 was more masculine and virile (some tasters said they would continue to cellar this wine). Powerful CdB but the 23 years of aging brought forth so much wonderful complexity too. It was my only bottle, but this was surely the right event to open it and share. |

This was another crazy good nose. Love the crushed flowers and perfume of cherry and strawberries - just gorgeous red berries here; excellent spice notes with more subtle orange peel and green twigs. The palate is medium bodied, pure and elegant, great tension with striking spices, soft texture and pretty red berries, juicy and so long. Classic Rousseau. What a tandem next to the '10 DRC Echezeaux. |

StG's menu tonight screamed Burgundy so that didn't hurt. Clos des Ruchottes, for me, is the sweet spot in Rousseau's lineup for maximum finesse, terroir expression, purity & value. The Chambertin & Beze are usually a bit better still but, this is my personal all-round fav cuvee. Wish, I could still afford them. So a huge thank you to Lonny for bringing this world class example of red Burgundy at its consistent best. Even more so, coming from 2010 vintage! This was a complete delight in my glass tonight. Elegance, finesse, stunning fruit, spice, mineral, hints of Sous Bois on the horizon and unmatched balance. Somewhat trumped tonight by Siggy's phenomenal 09 DRC Echezeaux. Tonight these 2 btls both showed why wine nuts like Lonny and I get hooked on Burgundy. What a night! 96+ |

4/16/2024 - KenCT Likes this wine: 90 pointsSome grippy tannin when I opened the bottle, but they loosened up after an hour or two of decanting. Over the course of the evening, the color turned from red to brown. Ripe cherry fruit with some saddle leather notes. Not a heavy wine, very enjoyable, but not a blockbuster. |

4/13/2024 - drjb Likes this wine: 95 pointsAt a private dinner, Little Cove, Noosa. This wine was opened and slow-oxed for 6hrs before dinner. The colour was a deep rusty red with a terrific nose of wild strawberry, raspberry and dark plums with plenty of spice and mineral notes. The palate is rich with lovely black and red berry fruit notes balanced with lovely touches of spice and a persistent line of minerality that really defines this wine. This is really quite delicious ! |

4/12/2024 - Vinum Deorum wrote: 89 pointsA rather harsh rating, but this really fail to deliver what I was legitimacy hoping for. An inelegant and greenish pinot with slightly bitter tanins, medium bodied, and feeling a bit disjointed. I usually love Rousseau, I have a great souvenir of a 2006 Mazy (so-so vintage too), but this was not drinking well. I tasted the wine by myself over two days (pregnant wifey) and it did not get any better on day 2. Wine came directly from the domaine a short while ago. |

4/10/2024 - broccoliflower Likes this wine: 98 pointsCouldn't put it any better than the reviews below. This was open for business last night, just a complete and perfectly-integrated wine, with no singular characteristic stepping out in front of the others. Aromas and the palate danced from one element to another seamlessly, from fruit, to terroir, bits of game and animal, to mineral. An absolutely stunning and haunting wine. If you're going to serve with food, keep it simple. Roast chicken and potatoes. Let this wine sing because it will. |

3/28/2024 - kentlaw Likes this wine: 93 pointsPop and poured, color was splendid and the condition of this bottle was great. A little on the lighter but was expected from the vintage. Also I much prefer this "classic" Burgundian vintage over the rich fruit bombs of 2015. Nose was beautiful and airy, red cherries, potpourri, a bit of dried autumn leaves, the gevrey earthiness and a hint of sandalwood made this very enjoyable. On the palate a little tight and a bit acidic, but opens up with time and a little air. Enjoyable today but will last another 5-10 years easy. |

4/7/2024 - Lord of the Bottles Likes this wine: 96 pointsWhat a treat to drink Rousseau! Taken to a restaurant and let breathe in Zalto Burgundy glasses. Beautiful if on the young side. Perfectly balanced stewed and red fruit almost Zen-like. Some morelo cherry, green stem, and hawthorn bush notes. In time a touch of mint. This did close up some towards the glass. 95-96 now with upside in a few years. |

4/6/2024 - pkoster6000 Likes this wine: 94 pointsSuper complex nose leading with cherries, fireplace, baking spices, raspberry, red currants, black tea, orange zest. Palate explodes with everything above and a smooth roundness. Expected a heavier wine this comes across much more delicate and feminine. Finish goes for quite some time. My only bottle and paired tonight with a roasted veal chop. Very happy right now. Medium acidity. |
