Similar to the bottle I had a year and a half ago. The nose is floral with hints of orchard fruit. The palate is apple and hints of citrus and a touch of oak leading to a nice long finish.

Over two years since my last bottle and this bottle was singing. Opened two and a half hours prior to dinner. The nose was red fruit and roses. The palate was dark cherry, hints currans, raspberry and a touch of spice all in harmony. The finish was long and brought out the roses and hibiscus. Served with oven roasted salmon which was the same dish and recipe that I used last time.

Lunch at Wa-I. Tasted blind. Drank in Sydonios Meridional.
Appearance is opaque, very deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Long legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of spearmint, chocolate mocha, spice, blueberries, blackberries, black cherries. Developed.
On the palate, dry, just about high acidity, high alcohol (15% front, 16% back label), smooth integrated high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of chocolate mocha, blueberries, blackberries, black cherries, dark currants, black licorice, sweet drk spices, creme de cassis, asphalt, spearmint background. Long plummy plush finish.
Excellent quality. Big ripe and lush plush but never feels heavy or jammy. Quite a joy to keep sipping on. Prime time drinking.

Surprisingly excellent fruit, this really surprised us for the age. Very balanced, it took aeration and improved, really excellent.

Last of 13 bottles - I guess we liked this one. Perhaps a small step back, but similar to my note from 2017 on this one. Lemon oil and tropical notes with a hint of oak.

My favorite Pinot. Not a fruit bomb, leaning towards the austere side. Wonderful.

I was surprised by this wine as I’m not a big fan of the 100% Cab Franc. This wine was quite stunning, gobs of big, bright fruit flavors. More intense than I expected, though not a ton of depth. I can easily see why this wine blends so well with the other Hobbs Cabernet wines.

Tom & Bruna's Wine Tasting (Edina, MN): One of the better Pinots from just Russian River Valley. Cranberry, strawberry, minerals, sour cherry and wafter. Medium plus finish and plenty of life ahead. Outstanding effort. 93 points

Great example of a classic Napa cab. Full bodied, intense fruit with strong oak, tobacco and hint of vanilla. Strong tannin through the finish which brings out graphite. Medium length finish, medium/high complexity. Went very well with hard cheese.

Good nose of red fruit and spice upfront. This is a nice smokey and dense Pinot. The taste profile is good. Along with the red fruit, I pick up tobacco, forest floor and a nice mineral element. The structure is pretty firm and balanced and the finish is excellent…

Still very primary, with very little development. Needed some air to temper the acidity and for everything to come together. PnP felt a bit disjoint. Red fruit, a bit of ripeness but not overboard, cola, spice and dried herbs. I'd give this a few more years before opening another.

Light ruby colour.

Pronounced aromas of cranberry, ripe red cherry, strawberry, cola, all spice, vanilla, a hint of smoke, mint, dried herbs.

Pronounced palate.

Medium body, high acidity, medium (-) tannin, long finish.

Good California Cab, no decant complex nose of cassis, cherries, blueberries, mulberries, licorice and herbs. Palate has sweet rich tannins, black and blue fruit and long mouth-coating finish

Last wine of the Paul Hobbs Around the World at Mission Wines. Relatively lighter extraction compared to some of his other Napa products, and slightly higher acid - I think having to do with the larger temperature changes and relatively lower temperatures here than in Napa (allowing for a lengthier ripening process). This is not as silky as the Malbec but the fruit is slightly more pronounced. The finish is quite short and there is not a whole lot of complexity in this wine. I think it is hard to quantify most Napa Cabs within a QPR bucket at this point, but this bottle feels like it is in a weird spot - pricey enough to have some sort of expectations, but not quite there given the price. I would rather spend more to get some of his other single vineyard Cabernets, or I would rather just drop the price and get a Crossbarn Pinot Noir.

Tasted at the Paul Hobbs Around the World at Mission Wines. Much brighter and crisper than the Armenian white in the flight - lightly oaked, but a very classical cold climate Chardonnay. Very expressive finish, notes of yuzu and minerality. This has a fairly concentrated palate and complexity. That being said, at this price point there are quite a lot of options for Russian Rivers Chardonnay.

Getting a little long in the the tooth but in some ways more drinkable now. Not an in your face cab., more velvety and approachable. Served with crusted boursin cheese appetizer and people raved about the combination. Drink it sooner rather than later. Wish I had more.

Licorice, earth on the nose. Dark fruit opens with time and rounds out nicely after 1-2 hours. A lovely wine.
