4/11/2024 - tward Likes this wine: NRInteresting now. At nearly nine years, not what I was expecting on PnP and I wouldn't have called in Tablas or guessed Mourvedre blind. Bright and mid-weight, cherry, some red fruits. I decided to decant and vigorously aerate in the decanter a couple of times. The half hour+ helped reveal touches of depth and with our meal and over a couple hours it reached towards a more typical profile. Only now have I glanced at the most recent Tablas Creek vintage chart that recommends decanting! Still, even a couple hours in we'd get visits from vanilla and sweet tones. Some earth and soil came in towards the end. |
