I was hesitant to give 97 but damn this is good, notes of ripe orchard fruit, asian pear, crème brûlée and nutmeg. The palate is succulent and layered with rich Asian fruit, sea salt and vanilla tart flooding the palate, the mid-palate wonderfully layered slight rich yet with this vibrant energy throughout, finishing long and energetic. Beyond the expected flavor profile (note to self - no sulfur! that's a good thing) it went with beef salami and epoisses as if we were following instructions on a celestial label. Will try to get more. No 2020 worries here as of now. |

Nose of lemon curd, white peach, cream, not butter. It has nice texture, decent though not extremely high acidity, notes of Marcona almonds, lemony citrus, more of the elements on the nose and only a moderately long finish. Lovely wine. |

Alchohol of 14.5% was nicely integrated. I would love to hold on to these wines longer but they take up sooooo much space in my free standing cellar. I have a 2005 Ramey Hudson that just sings so one can wait a while before opening. I think this wine will continue to evolve over the next 5 years. |

This wine is evolving beautifully and has plenty more life. This well-made, full bodied Cali chardonnay can easily go a decade if properly cellared. |
