5/1/2009 - Patton wrote: 95 pointsExcellent white wine ... a blend of 75% Chardonnay, 15% Viognier and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Bought at the Bedell winery on Long Island last year. The nose was wonderfully pleasing with aromas of peach, apricots, vanilla and a hint of oak and floral tones. Absolutely delicious and flavorful fruity taste that was well-textured. Nicely balanced acidity with a lingering, slightly minerally finish. Wish I had bought more! The bottle is unique with the base recessed so you can put your thumb up into the base -- allowing ease of pouring. |

7/17/2010 - amateurwino wrote: 86 pointsNose shows some buttery oak, and does have something burgundy-like. Palate shows a lot of the oak - buttery, etc. A bit of a disappointment compared to the nose, but a fair amount of sweet fruit here together with a slight green herbal edge. Solid chard, though. 86-87 |

1/18/2009 - Trajadoja wrote: 89 pointsLong Island wines are proving to me over and over again that they have the ability to age. This decade-old Bordeaux style blend was still quite youthful in its color as I poured the first glass. There was surprisingly little brown in the color and quite a bit of fruit on the nose. In fact, I almost wished I's waited longer, hoping for some more of the flavors that come with age. Either way, the nose and palate were reflective of blackberry and plum, cedar and some aromas of violet and balsamic. The palate added nutmeg and some additional winter spice, and finished with a coffee note. |
