I've noticed this wine slowly decline, losing some of the vibrancy of fruit that I enjoy. Tonight's bottle is similar to the last few I have tried in recent months, earth and tobacco on the nose, more earth, sousbois, faint red and black cherries, and an acid finish. This cork was perfect and bottle in great condition so I am guessing perfect storage helped. Lovely classic Bordeaux nose of red fruits, pencil, tobacco. On opening some green/herbal notes which dissipated with just over an hour in the decanter. Tannins were smooth and everything perfectly balanced. The nose on this is perfumed, exotic, and sexy. Beautifully rendered fruit in the mouth, absolutely exciting, rich, and flavory. Feminine, voluptuous and alluring. This is drinking right in the middle of its peak, with no signs of decline but no reason to delay the immense pleasure it now provides. A subtle brown rim but heart of crimson still. In the mouth just so smooth with complex gentle fruit and soft elegant tannin. Everything a good Margaux should be.
