The vegetal flavor was gone but this was still a little disjointed and out of balance. I decanted for 3 hours and it had still not come all together although it did improve as I drank it over another hour or so. It felt like another 6 months might do this bottle good. The flavors remain much like I described in previous notes but the difference now is the acidity has increased which probably means that this wine will age nicely. It began as a BASIC Napa cab, with all the requisite notes, but scrunched together like the face of a Beverly Hills widow. Ah, but as time progressed, the joys of Rutherford came forth - strong fruit, firm backbone, and a graphite core of relentless power. As has been stated in previous notes, nice deep, dark purple color and extraction, with a deep, dark purple color. Ripe dark fruit composed of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry fruit. The 2013 is approachable and is pretty good. Dark red purple fruit, scents of violets, light woody cedar, blackberry, plum, black cherry and slightly tart currents. Purple fruit - blackberry, currants, dark cherry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth/concentration. Nice flavors of dark berries, some spice, cassis, and cocoa. Fairly long finish. Decanted for one hour and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time but drinking well after the decant. However, it was better on day two - it opened-up some more. 4/11/2015 - Rich S Likes this wine: 91 pointsPopped and slow ox'd for about an hour. Dark crimson color. Nose of cassis, black currant, some toasted oak and a bit of pyrazine in the background. Similar flavors on the palate with a nice hit of cassis and some cedar cigar box along with just the right amount of oak. Clearly a well made wine but I was surprised with how "light" it drank for a Rutherford cab. Tannins were soft and acid seemed low to medium.
