This Champagne was drinking quite well! Lots of creamy stone fruit and citrus, with plenty of yeast and brioche, and throw in a healthy dose of limestone, chalk and wet slate. 3/5/2022 - Decanting Queen Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is my first Rare and very different from the other premium champagnes I have tasted and particularly the 2008 vintage. But that said, I loved it. Big intense flavor and aromas, very toasty buttery brioche-y but plenty of ripe fruit and a twist of lemon acidity. Many layers and very fun to drink. Mousse was very fine but seemed to fade quickly—my only critique would be this could have used some longer lasting effervescence before getting closer to a still wine. Excited to have a bottle of this on deck to share with friends on our vacation next week. I am sure this can age, I just don’t see any reason not to drink it. 8 people found this helpful, do you? Fun and a crowd pleaser champagne, but I would choose Dom or Comtes any day. I would like to try the 02 and 06 to see how the other vintages compare.
