8/17/2010 - manga wrote: 92 pointsPale yellow with a green hue. Attractive level of reduction by way of roasted corn. Quince nose with Jonagold and an undertone of meyer lemon and gravel and rocks. The entry is round and fat with good width across the palate and then seems to fan out with dried flowers, citrus peel and fresh butter. Quince on the finish give the wine some closure and length. Very good. |

3/18/2010 - manga wrote: 88 pointsPale yellow. Spiced bartlet pear and asian pear with a medium body texture. Crushed quartz and a tangy spine of acidity that gives the wine a little lift to the finish. Very nice, but rather simple. |

1/5/2010 - manga wrote: 88 pointsPale yellow with a pea green edge. Buttered nuts, dryer sheets and lemon drop on the nose. The entry is a bit simple and has a phenolic edge to it on the finish. With a bit of air gained a little more richness with more graham cracker and white choolate coming through, seemingly lots of lees/barrel contact. Rather straight forward overall. |

12/12/2009 - manga wrote: 92 pointsBlack/red color. Mild reduction complexes the nose of boysenberry, black olives, dried rose petal and anise. Very complex nose. Gravel and rocks on entry of the wine and good mid palate sap. Cracked pepper and tar/asphalt and coffee on the finish. Very nice grain to the tannin today....a bit linear on the palate....needs time. |

6/28/2010 - manga wrote: 93 pointsLots of reduction at first. With some air, classic northern Rhone nose of hot dogs and waxy black olives and grilled herbs. After decanting for 4 hrs, the reduction blows off and notes of ollalieberry, boysenberry, and black plum. Green olive tapenade is complicated with lots of black pepper. Love the very soft texture of gravel and rocks. Lots of extract here. |

7/7/2017 - manga wrote: 95 pointsPnP. Beautiful nose of lavender and smoked hazelnuts. Brambles and plum and red cherry. Smoked meats. Texture is remarkable. Beautiful acidity that seems to hold the velvety texture together. Tannins are polished with a finish of dried flowers and bing cherry. Outstanding today. |

12/28/2009 - manga wrote: 92 pointsPale straw. Minerals and floral. Slate and grilled peaches. Vibrant acidity throughout the palate with lime and crushed stones. Dry extract seems to be high and a great finish of quinine. Very good persistence. A bit of SO2 yet that may be clouding the full potential. |

10/19/2016 - manga wrote: 93 pointsPear skin, quince and grapefruit notes with a touch of hazelnut and greengage. Riper notes of starfruit are counterpointed with mushroom. Crushed rocks with great acidity in the mouth give way to great length. |

12/24/2009 - manga wrote: 88 pointsGarnet red. Cola and sassafrass, slight note of tomato leaf but is integrated. Black cherry cola and vanilla and wood spices. orange peel complexes the nose. Sweet/soft entry and good middle palate depth. A green streak towards the finish of the wine shortens it up a bit. Nice fruit driven effort. |

3/21/2010 - manga wrote: 87 pointsAromas are somewhat green. Classic nose of sausage and hotdogs complexed with black olives and grilled herbs. Medium weight entry and a tangy finish. The greeness of the tannins accents the acidity and makes it seem somewhat out of balance and dilutes the overall feel of the wine. Through all of that there is a mineral and rocks finish that is notable. |

2/13/2010 - manga wrote: 91 pointsRuby red. Pungent spices and cinnamon stick. Clay and earthy and candied yams predominate. Very sweet on entry and an almost confectionary like middle palate complexed with the sweet potato and musky spices. tea-like tannins that are well buffered by the extract. |

12/8/2009 - manga wrote: 88 pointsPale yellow with green edge. Yellow apple, bartlet pear and white peach on the nose. Balsam/piney. White flower perfume in the mouth but a bit disjointed...an oily texture in the middle but very clenched with a dry finish. Created some bitterness and shortened finish. Better the second day, but still not resolved. |

3/18/2010 - manga wrote: 91 pointsEarth and dark cherry, black tea and minerals on the nose. Palate is very sappy and buffers the black tea like tannins very well. Elements of dried flowers, dark cherry, forest floor and iodine complete this wine. Nice showing today. |

3/26/2010 - manga wrote: 96 pointsBrillant red. Oolong tea aromas jump from the glass with a dense black cherry pit. Still very primary on the nose with marachino cherry and rose petal....rather pure. Amazing texture....the entry is rather linear, but then builds in the middle with a saturated and deep texture. The sense of tannins seem to build along the length of the palate. Flavors of bitter cherry and integrated acidity make this wine seem almost spherical. Delish today, but there seems to be something lurking in all of the primary notes that suggest this has a few more years. |

5/19/2010 - manga wrote: 88 pointsClassic Gamay nose of bubblegum and fruit basket, there is a note of austerity in the way of a smokey peat. Entry is rather full and round and conveys a lithe impression. Seems to just play on the top of the tounge...but enjoyable. |

12/24/2009 - manga wrote: 88 pointsFloral and smokey minerals. Grilled peach and lime flowers. Soft entry of minerals and round in the middle with minerals. There seems to be a high level of phenolics (hard press?) on the finish. Rather diffuse on the palate. Some SO2 spiciness could be masking today. The sense of minerality is nice, but rather awkward. |

1/18/2010 - manga wrote: 90 pointsGolden yellow. Waxy apricots and nectarines with a hint of leesy smoke. Entry is focused with creamy poached pears that transition to hazlenut in the middle. The finish creams out with lemon curd and stone fruit pit. Very elegant. |

5/8/2010 - manga wrote: 90 pointsPale straw. Floral aromatics struck me the most which gave way to vitamin tabs, powdered rocks. I found a Pinot gris like nose of jelly beans interesting. The palate was of grapefruit, green apple and pencil lead. Very fresh and lively wine! |
