Taste of honey, lemon, and tea. My third bottle. A fascinating alternative to Chardonnay. |

7/28/2013 - mlwhitfi wrote: 90 pointsBriary Zinfandel fruit that reminds me more of Mendocino than Anderson valley / Geyserville area. Significant structure from the Petite Sirah. Beautiful field blend example. Plums, prunes & currants on the nose. Smooth well integrated tannins. Lingering licorice finish. Pallate has a distinct earthiness with dark fruit, mushrooms & hints of cloves. Took a while to open up but really drinking beautifully. |

4/22/2013 - mlwhitfi Likes this wine: 87 pointsLight cherries, damp leather, woody, cinnamon and cloves on the nose. On the palate one gets pepper and earth with light tannins. Refreshing restrained at 13.1% alcohol. Like the Le Posseur 2009 Syrah reviewed in parallel, this wine is beautifully food friendly. |

5/2/2013 - mlwhitfi Likes this wine: 94 pointsBright. Beautifully integrated and restrained with evolving layers of subtle flavors in a nuanced old world style. Nose: Forward bright fruit, violets, chocolate, toast, pepper, and leather. Hint of orange zest. Palate: bright cherries, leather and toast. Finishes with a bit of cassis or cardamon. Still young so takes a while to open up. Showing beautifully now but also has some aging potential. Nice acidity, should should certainly go at least 10 yrs and develop some beautiful secondary characteristics in the next few. Looking forward to watching this wine (and this new winery) grow and evolve. |
