6/8/2012 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRYouthful purple. Nose closed at first. Decanted 1hr. Layer upon layer of dark fruits. Just a hint of sweet smoke...new oak? Didn't think they used oak here...Very approachable for a young Cabassaou. Primary, but delicious. Long finish. Excellent. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (2) |

10/20/2012 - BobJohnson1 Likes this wine: NRLight straw gold. Big nose of pear. Medium bodied, flavors of orchard fruits, honey, flowers, hay and minerals. Long finish with a slight bitter note that I kinda liked. I felt that this grape variety could have easily gone clunky, but the excellent winemaking keep it light and balenced. I was really excited to try this wine, being a hugh Tempier fan and this being the first bottle of white I have been able to lay my hands on. Not at the level of their Rose or Red, but still very good. This wine gave me the feeling of sitting on a large rock in a wild meadow basking in warm September sunshine. 2 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

11/12/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRRuby. Starting to pick up weight. Nose is a little shy at the moment. Tart, sweet, cranberry and red current. Medium weight, medium finish. Very precise, very Chambolle. Excellent Village wine. While this is much better than a year ago, It still isn't ready. I would give it another year or two. Very nice. I like this style. |

1/7/2012 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRMedium purple. Nose just starting to open with some swirling. Dark fruits, somber. Earthy. After 30 minutes opening much more. Good solid Gevrey in need of a couple more years. To me this seems very old school style. Medium finish. Nothing wrong here. Very good and will improve. |

1/24/2013 - BobJohnson1 Likes this wine: NRLight gold. Very expressive nose, took a little air time to settle down, then drank wonderfully. I would say it is just entering it's window. Very nicely balanced, complex and long. Excellent. |

12/10/2009 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NROut of Magnum. Salmon pink color. Nice nose of Strawberry and melon. After a little time, a hint of papaya added intrigue. Good freshness and focus with a decent finish. Very complex for a Rose. Just a bit lighter than the 07. Very enjoyable. |

10/28/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRInky purple. Sweet nose of black fruit, minerals and smoke Very nice balance. Rich, robust wine. Drinking well, although a bit young and tannic. With a hearty winter stew and polenta it works. I would not drink it alone at this point. Excellent wine. Pure. Much better now then on release. Couple more years it should be stunning. |

1/6/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRVery open and drinking well. Nice elegant, mid weight. Excellent nose, nice mid and very good finish. Acid and tannins resolved. 10/25/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRLight ruby. Medium/light weight. A little funk that gives way to sweet red fruit. Starting to develop a nice texture, but not there yet. Medium finish. I think while this is not a big year or big wine, a little more cellar time will benefit it greatly. 3 or 4 more years should do it. I liked this, and look forward to revisiting in the future. |

10/23/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRA bit of bottle funk at first that quickly blew off. Medium purple. Sweet cool nose. Utterly delicious. Big, but smooth and balanced. I really love the texture of this. Cuvee Laurence seems to be very consistent in having purity and texture that is like silk. I have not had many CDP that silk would enter into a tasting note. But this wine in 95, 98 both tasted within the last few years, all exhibited that quality. I know this is made for early consumption, but from my experience, there is no need to rush to drink. Only thing after tasting it is going to be very hard to keep my hands off. Excellent wine. After a sting of disappointing Rhones from 07 it was great to recharge my CDP enthusiasm. Pegau is a must buy. |

3/19/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRThis bottle had quite a bit of brett. Funny, I don't remember the last one having any at all. Behind the brett, gobs of luscious fruit and minerals. Very bright and cheerful. Nice wine, going to be quite good in a few years. |

3/7/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRMy third bottle. This one was much more advanced than others. Consumed along other white burgs, this stood out as sweet and flabby. I really like this producer, but I do not have much faith in the ability of this 06 to age well. Drink up. |

1/3/2011 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRMy last bottle of 6. This wine has been a revaluation. Beautiful, high elevation mountain scents. So light on it's feet, but with plenty of flavor and character to spare. Gripping finish. A wonderful match to sheep's milk ricotta ravioli. All the charm of great Cru Beaujolais, but with Nebbiolo's tapestry like flavor profile. Wonderful stuff. |

3/23/2014 - BobJohnson1 Likes this wine: NRSweet, tropical, full and long. Vanilla custard. Nicely balanced. From CA for sure, but had me thinking of Chave White Hermitage or a big style Condrieu. I was surprised I liked this so much. Really good. |

10/23/2012 - BobJohnson1 wrote: NRDark Ruby. No nose... well with vigorous swirling there might be a hint of something. Excellent mouthfeel. Tannins are resolved and acid in check. Sweet fruit flavors, hint of orange peel, rock and spice. Really delicious and enjoyable to drink with dinner. Just too bad no aromas to go with it. By the end of the bottle it seemed that the tannin/ acids were kicking in a bit, which seemed odd to me, normally it is the other way around. Disappointing. Maybe an off bottle? Have a few more... time will tell. |
