7/3/2013 - SimonG wrote: 94 pointsIan's Blind @ Medlar (Medlar, London): Blind. magnum. Very fine bubbles, and in abundance. Lovely, fresh, lemony nose with warm brioche coming through with a little air. A chard heavy blend with PN. Lovely line with a nice prickle on the finish. Getting richer with air. Initially thought 96 but this might be 98. Turns out to be a grower, but no idea what. Ginger spice, pure long and elegant. Really lovely. ****1/2 |

Lush texture on the palate, but acting quite vibrant and young. Nice soft bubbles and some dandelion pollen notes. Creamy texture on the finish, leaving the mouth sensually, but then after 10 seconds slow acid begins to creep up and overpowers that creamy fruitiness. Nice stuff. 91+ |

6/29/2011 - Keith Levenberg wrote: 90 pointsClos des Lambrays Vertical (Momofuku Ma Peche): Hummmmm, this is still an impressive Champagne in a lot of ways but I definitely liked it better a few years ago when it had all those interesting accents to the fruit. Now it's just pure fruit, about as intensely concentrated as you'll ever encounter in a Champagne, almost Coche-Dury-esque in its density but without the butter. The word "gelatinous" I used in my last note two years ago occurred to me again today. Actually, the first thing I wrote down was, "Gloppy, but not in a bad way." But not in as good a way as it used to be, either. |

2/21/2011 - KeithAkers wrote: 95 pointsA smattering of Grower Bubbles (Publican, Chicago IL): nose: this is deep on a completely different level then the other bubbles in the tasting. The tones flowed out of the glass with all sorts of tones of butterscotch, brioche, baked breads, toasty tones, citrus', green apples and bits of baking spices. This took a bit to unfold in the glass, but was stupendous and seemed to be still wound a bit tight |

11/28/2010 - rnellans wrote: 93 pointsWe have had the 98 and 99 Cuvee Creation individually in the past, so thought it would be interesting to compare them one on one. Brioche, creamy oak, hint of apples and citrus aromas. Perhaps less fruit on the palate than the 99, but more complex. Citrus and spice on the palate with great acidity. This is a very nice wine. I don't think it is necessarily getting better with age, but would love to have some in the cellar. |

Beautiful yellow-gold color; fine beads; tropical fruit, apple, sweet bread, and chalk on the nose; lush fruit, lime, and excellent acidity on the palate; long, luscious finish. We enjoyed this with edamame and sushi. Plenty of life ahead for this wine. |

While the best way to describe it 3 years ago (and this is not my term) was "technicolor," this is definitely evolving. The tropical fruit is still there, but it's starting to relax, while lovely spice and nut notes are joining in. Concentrated and long, this is beautiful wine. As a matter of comparison, I much preferred this to the NV Krug I had last month. |

Plenty of ripe tropical fruit, light minerality, good richness and depth, but I was looking for either youthful, tensile energy or added complexity from age and found neither. For the significant pricetag here there is lots of fizz I'd rather drink. |
