12/15/2023 - Wisco Mel Likes this wine: NRFound this quite tasty. Punch of black raspberries, dark fruit, tobacco and a bit of woodiness. I openly admit, I purchased because I liked the label. |

8/4/2019 - wordwoman wrote: flawedIt's almost bitter citrusy on the nose, like grapefruit and blood oranges, and the alcohol component comes across a little strong. I'm having trouble even picking out more subtle flavors on the tongue because the flavor is intensely sour and acidic. Like, INTENSELY sour. I don't know if it's a bad bottle or a bad wine but it's pretty undrinkable. I'm marking this as defective in fairness because it tasted like descriptions I've read of cooked bottles. |

5/14/2022 - WineCenturyAZ Likes this wine: 88 pointsRuby in the glass with aromas of dark fruit, violets, and vanilla. On the palate the fruits are alive with ripe dark cherries, black plums and black currant. The warm vanilla is expressed in the finish. Very balanced with smooth tannins and very long finish. Clos LaChance has once again bottled a real winner with a great QPR |

6/6/2017 - corkscrews Likes this wine: 90 pointsA nose of dark fruit and some spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, blackberry, cocoa and spices on smooth and long finish, a great QPR. www.winelx.com |

2/24/2017 - tautlinehitch Likes this wine: 92 pointsPnP. Syrah-black in the glass. Nose also dark, cassis, chocolate, blackberry, something floral too. Palate has the same fruit but also bright, lively acidity which brings the fruit to the fore. Mild, medium-coarse tannins fade quickly, so the finish isn't as long as you could wish for. Still this is very fine. I would say drink up, it's very nice now and unlikely to get better with time. |

6/20/2017 - t0pshelf Likes this wine: 90 pointsGrenache dominates and red fruit abounds, with a perfume nose. A touch of tartness as noted in another review, but I find it well balanced. For a central coast grenache, this wine is quite good, comparable even to some of my Paso area wines. |

3/15/2016 - MC2 Wines Likes this wine: NRI was pleasantly surprised by this wine. It's much more quaffable than I would have guessed. Nice and made in more of a food wine format this was fruit forward, but the tannins kept it balanced. On the one-dimensional side and would have liked to see a bit more evolution, but given the price point a good wine. |

4/21/2015 - WineCenturyAZ Likes this wine: 87 pointsA consistent producer from an off the radar CA central coast area. When you pick up your rental car at SFO or OAK change your plans and head south for some of the best QPR wines today. Translucent garnet in the glass, aromomatic nose that leads to a palate of dark fruits, balanced acidity and tannins, and a finish that lingers. Very nice. |
