Aromatic and complex, if slightly big and new world in style for my taste. Very showy today, but has plenty remaining to hold for a while longer.

This one needs air. Bottle very tight, structured 1st night. Dramatically better on day two. Clear light straw color, med body, lime, lemon cream, white pepper, gently floral, long mineral-driven finish. Very good.

Drinking very well right now. Improved over two nights and after saved in a 375. Showing some complexity and aged notes with plenty of leather and ripe but balanced fruit. A nice budget Bordeaux. I liked this much more than expected, especially given the middling scores below. Wish I had bought a case at the ~$10 closeout price.

Not a very complex bordeaux, but a nice balanced dinner companion with enough age to enjoy and enough stuffing to hang on to for a while too.

Pop & pour. Loads of beautifully layered fruit with soft, textured tannins and a medium-long finish. Great Beaujolais.

Promising, but tight young wine. Prominant earth/mushroom note and more tannin that the regular bottling. Good potential. Revisit in a year or two.

Very pretty, elegant. Strong minerality. Tight with some tannin. Less tannin and missing the earth/mushroom notes compared to the Tardive. Too young to score. Revisit in a year or two.

Earth, mineral, red fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Elegantly structured, medium body. Can't believe this is gamay. I would have bet money this was pinot noir if tasted blind. Priced on the high side for beaujolais, but cheaply if you cover the label and pretend it's burgundy.

Pop & pour and night 2: Floral aromas, pleasantly-tangy, tart but ripe red fruit, adequate finish. Not especially complex, but this is a very nice wine for the $14 price tag. Tasty and balanced with enough restraint and acidity for a wine geek's midweek dinner, but still fruity enough to serve it to your non-wine geek friends.

This chablis didn't really taste like chablis to me. Too ripe and flabby, reminded me of California. Not a bad wine, but a little out of balance in the ripe 2009 vintage.

Nice red fruit, good balance, tasty. Didn't need a ton of air. Medium acidity and mild tannins make it easy to drink now. It lost something the second night even though stored in the fridge immediately after opening, which gives me pause about it's ability to age well.

FYI - On pop and pour this wine had an overwhelming paint thinner like aroma and taste. I put it back in the fridge and on night 2 and 3 it was fine. Reduction or VA maybe?

Otherwise some interesting and quircky flavors (licorice?) with good balance and acidity.
