10/22/2006 - rjoyer wrote: 90 pointslush ripe fruit, bit of heat towards the finish, but blows off after a while. Jammy blue fruit pie on the round mid-palate make this an enjoyable wine. Hint of kirsch at the end. All around enjoyable (especially at the price) but feels disjointed at the end, and the heat creeps up on the long 20 second finish preventing it from being a great bottle. |

1/10/2008 - rjoyer wrote: 92 pointsPulled from wine fridge, popped, poured and consumed within an hour and a half. Very delightful. Stoney white peach and a mineral water scent. Thicker on the palate than I expected, but in check with a lively and crisp feel to it. More white stone fruit and limestone precipitate a somewhat lengthy and pleasant finish. |

The palate has a nice balance between flesh and cut, which work together to extend the finish. This is straight forward, easy to read and a fantastic bourgogne. Smoke em if you got em. |

3/6/2015 - rjoyer wrote: NRThis note reflects my impressions after following a bottle that was opened for 24 hours and sampled over 2 nights. I'm trying to figure out what to make of this one as it is my first 2012 Chablis, and I find myself missing some of the sea-shells, minerality and austerity I typically find in such young examples from the region. It is surprisingly open from the pop and pour and, perhaps, also surprisingly plump for a fresh 1er cru Chablis. I'm greeted by warm spices, banana curd and a kiss of vanilla on the nose, and find a wine that is full and fleshy on the palate, with notes of ginger, pineapple and lime. The lime lingers on the finish, which possibly keeps things more refreshing than the rest of my note lets on, and I have to say that I like the wine fine...I just find myself wishing for a bit more intensity and focus. 1 person found this helpful, do you? 1/27/2013 - rjoyer wrote: NRThis bottle was quite fresh and vibrant, showing no signs of POX whatsoever. Age has rounded out the impact of the fruit, creating a creamy/buttery element to the green and yellow fruit notes. Typical minerals and seashell elements as you'd expect and a nice, lengthy finish. Great with the Malpeque and Kumamoto oysters. |

10/2/2012 - rjoyer wrote: NRI'm sorry to see this is my last bottle of 8 purchased, having drunk through these way too fast. This bottle showed like many of the previous ones with a pretty, red floral nose that is inviting and a palate giving up impressions of dark sour cherries and a strong mineral streak. I see several years of positive upside development here and find that there is a lot to like about this wine...not the least of which is the excellent QPR it represents. |

Expressively forward and giving, if not a bit savage on night one, while night two shows a purity to the fruit, becoming more thoughtful and rounded. The palate shows sour and sweet dark cherries and strawberry fruit tones, that I just adore. There's nice acidity here that helps tame the young fruit and extend the finish. Delicious, and a great QPR in my book. |

2/18/2012 - rjoyer wrote: NRThis pours a very light hue in the glass, even the second half of it which was put into a .375ml bottle and consumed nearly a week later. The nose seems a little shy but does display toasted yellow fruits and a sea salt-like minerality. If I were to nit-pick, I'd suggest that perhaps a touch more of the toast is showing than I'd prefer, but I suspect that will subside in time. The palate displays lean, yellow citrus tones and has nice cut from the acidity, though I can't help but want more depth and viscosity. Absolutely none of the toast I detect on the nose shows up in the mouth. Overall this is nice if not attention-grabbing. |

2/4/2011 - rjoyer wrote: NRThe color is very light and straw-like. While the nose is a little reticent, it does give off just enough yellow citrus and a mineral perfume to pull you in. Things change in the mouth though, as it is racy, vibrant and focused on the palate, possessing a finish of green apple and more yellow citrus tones that are more than satisfyingly long. Lip smackingly clean and poised to improve with some additional time in bottle. Very nice. |

I am probably most impressed w the combination of acidity, extract and palate staining sensations. |

It shows as light, watery even, with fruit trending towards the green citrus realm that leaves me looking for more depth and complexity. I will hold my other bottles in the hopes that some additional time will bring something more than what I got from this bottle. |

1/9/2008 - rjoyer wrote: 87 pointsPopped, decanted and consumed the first half of the bottle on night one, before pouring the second half into a .375ml and in the fridge for night two. This note reflects my thoughts after both nights. For the first 2 or 3 hours on night one, the wine was a bit lighter than I expected, though it built up in both intensity and weight as time went on. Spiced cherries and a dried soil like backbone carry through both nights on the palate. When the fruit softened on night two, it seemed to lack the supporting characteristics to reveal something thought provpoking. As such, I enjoyed it for what it was, and kept from trying to look too deep into the glass. Paired reasonably well with Asian marinated chicken breasts on night two. |

8/30/2012 - rjoyer wrote: NRFollowed over 2 nights, with night 2 showing best. This is a great bottle of chardonnay, particularly at the price-point, that has put on a little weight and complexity since my last foray back in October. The bouquet throws off notes of slate, lemon oil, salted hazlenuts and perhaps the barest hint of white truffle. In all, it is a relatively complex nose that is largely replicated in the mouth...with sneaky length. Delicious. |

1/17/2008 - rjoyer wrote: 90 pointsConsumed over two nights. Night two showed a bit more weight and depth than the previous night. The nose shifted from a white fruit and mildly (albeit pleasant) stinky cheese-like aroma on the first night to more red apple and petrol tones. The palate displays white shale, oyster water minerality and white peaches. Very pleasant and pleasing to see evolve over the two nights. It seemed that no two consecutive glasses tasted the same, which made for a thought provoking wine. |
