8/11/2015 - bacchuszuo Likes this wine: 98 pointsStar of an awesome night of Barolo across half a century, legendary vintage 1958...great fill and label+ capsule, cork was liked a half blown mummy, even the ah-so couldn't save it from dipping into the bottle...color of faded ruby and cloudy red tea, nose of aged Chinese rice wine, fermented vegetables and old leather, yet the palate was extremely vibrant! Dynamic layers of flavors were perfectly integrated within the soft yet noticeable tannin(yes, tannin after 57 years) and lively acidity, feels like watching an old movie in 3D! Aftertaste left a dazzling array of tea+ coffee+ cigar leaf flavors on the back of my throat, lasted for minutes, left me in the the dilemma of both eager to take the next sip and wanting to savor the lingering finish...the wine actually picked up in energy through the 7 hr night, like an old man remembering the power and love he once possessed. "It's like drinking TIME"...finishing the bottle in 7 hours was like saying goodbye to a day-long excursion in the museum, trying to savor every piece of sensual experience yet can't help but feel the story could keep going....spectacular experience. 98+ |

It‘s pretty full-bodied, dense and authoritative, with excellent structure of high tannin that is very good quality, high acidity and long finish. Austere, classic and beautiful. This might gain even more with a few more years in bottle. |

Subtle dark cherry aromas, stony earthiness on nose and beautiful minerality on the palate. Integrated soft tanins. Truly lovely wine that could probably benefit from another couple of years in the bottle. |
