Two years ago this wine had an absurd barnyard funk that took some time to blow off, afterwards revealing some subliminal dark fruit flavors, with a touch of licorice and expresso notes, with the same on the palate, and a lingering streaky finish of red fruit & coffee, for about 15 to 20 sec. Tonight this wine turned into a complete Cinderella, with the aromas of dark cherry and raspberry scents, of incredible magnitude, leading the way on the nose, with slight undertones of red licorice & candied spice. The palate unleashed a stupendish array of flavors ranging from Kirsh Liqueur to a volumptuous blackberry creme a la mode, with a harmonious light mocha flavor, along with the acidity to suspend the finish for at least 30sec. +. This wine can improve for another 3 to 5 years, based on the fruit, tannins, acidity, & alchol, if stored correctly. Clearly a 20 year wine. 95+ By the way, it was a tie, if not one notch above the 2010 Laird Estate Cabernet Sauvignon |

Was fortunate enough to secure 6 more bottles of this fabulous wine and already could not resist finishing 2 of them. This QPR is absolutely incredible. Excellent on day 1, and superb on Day 2. You can close your eyes while sipping it and immediately feel you're in Bordeaux (left bank). Incredible palate and looooong lingering finish. Still has plenty of life left despite moderate sediment. I'm upgrading my score to 93. Bravo! |

The '97 was elegant, this was much more fruit forward. Hard to believe it's 12 years old. Unlike some who say drink up, I think this can last a good long while. That said, why wait? |

Really good nose and fruit is still evident. Tannins have finally softened and drinking beautifully. Excellent with food. |

Gave it about a half hour to breathe..it was earthy and so smooth, rich and full bodied. It had aged nicely. The oldest bottle I had purchase but since I bought it off "Wine Woot" and the wine had been cellared by the winery, I felt comfortable about how it had been cellared. |

Very soft tannins, very well integrated, a massive wine, with plenty of heat and long lingering aftertaste. Enjoy! |

Tannins are gone, and nose is highly reminiscent of old-world left-bank Bordeaux aged similarly. This is not your fruit bomb that has been "in style" lately, but rather restrained, complex, and fairly evolved beautiful juice. It's simply delicious on both days 1 and 2 and I'm sorry I only have 2 left from 6 purchased. |
