WOTD for 7 of 8 people at the table where we also had SQN Atlantis Grenache 05, Clarendon Romas Grenache 02, and Janasse VV 03. This wine had great complexity in both the aromatics and taste with rich red and black fruits married seemlessly with dark spices. I was especially intrigued with the hints of earthy spices such as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg that gave the wine an extra dimension. Fabulously indulgent and delicious wine likely just entering it's prime drinking window. |

YOUHOUUUUU taste, super fruity and mineral, this wine taste is changing constantly in the mouth, from super fruity to fresh and mineral, so great that I'm just jumping on my seat and can't find the words to express it, but who cares... just perfect wine, bravo Daphné!! |

12/25/2021 - WildeMeeuw Likes this wine: 100 points Kleur: Helder, fluwelig lichtrood. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 15 + Smaak / Afdronk: 20 + Algemeen / potentieel: 10 = 100/100 |

7/30/2022 - WildeMeeuw Likes this wine: 100 pointsBriljante wijn! Beter dan dit gaat het niet worden. Maar deze fles is al net minder dan de fles die ik eind 2021 proefde! Zie mijn vorige proefnotitie over deze wijn. Nu drinken! Nu genieten. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

2/20/2016 - andrewdodd86 Likes this wine: 100 pointsOtherworldly. I'm in awe. Dense red fruit, cherry, orange. Tannic as all get out. Nice acid. Fig & Plum. Palate coating. 90+ second finish. Will haunt my dreams. Can be done differently but not better. |

1/4/2024 - Ex-Ray Likes this wine: 100 pointsProbably the best Clos Erasmus I've had. Full, rich aromas of mostly black fruits, with wonderful concentration and complexity of aromas and flavors and the tannin completely resolved. Tasted blind, guessed either a great Napa cab or Spanish. No need to age further. |

8/9/2017 - Cailles wrote: 99 pointsThe first sip right after opening the bottle told the story of a big, bold, layered, hugely extracted bomb - a wine that will be very interesting but I wouldn't want to drink much more than one or two glasses of, for sure not a few bottles. Four hours in the decanter and the story changed completely: no longer the over-extracted, heavy fruit bomb I feared it will be but a perfectly balanced, very elegant, silky, (very) fresh and sublime wine with layers and layers of sweet red fruit and the sweetest melting tannins (it really felt like they melt on your tongue and coat your mouth with the sweetest and purest form of strawberries and other red fruit). With more time in the glass herbal aromas kicked-in, adding to the complexity. I hope it will keep that amazing structure and add even more complexity with a few more years of age. 5 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

3/19/2023 - Ozen Likes this wine: 99 pointsSecond bottle: Again an overwhelmingly knock out, but ethereal, wine here. So unique in its style and personality, with exceptional purity of fruit that spans like a dome in your palate and is extremely rare (as in: I have never tasted anything like this before). The slightly raisiny tones are in absolutely perfect harmony. Pomegranate, sweet apple, blackberries, maybe even some cassis. Clos Erasmus uniqueness stems from the fact it has precious if not surreal fruit character while one could not having the depth and complexity of the very greatest burgundy kings and queens. But the etheral character and heavenly focus in red fruit is enthralling and captivating. |

3/19/2023 - augiechuck Likes this wine: 99 pointsThis wine is superb. It has a perfumed flavor that envelopes the palate. It's the kind of flavor that makes you want to take this wine and put it behind the ears like a perfume. Deliciously sweet jam filled and fruity. It packs a punch with the alcohol afterwards but while drinking it's not sensed at all. I'm so glad I got a 3 pack. Loved Priorat wine since I drank 2003 Mas Doix years ago and hadn't tasted anything as good until now as this Erasmus is the pinnacle. Enjoyed it with a Martha Stewart dish of Chicken, artichoke and spinach over white rice. |

6/7/2022 - hkbob Likes this wine: 99 pointsMy first encounter with this wine and I was not disappointed. Poured a clear pomegranate red and, as with all great wines, presented a different experience every time we returned to the glass. The nose, while quite reticent at first, unfurled over the course of 3 hours to deliver an abundance of fragrant floral top-notes accompanied by waves of garrigue, warm stones, sweet red berries, baking spice, savoury anise and some subtle saline and iodine notes. Supremely soft on the palate with an underlying intensity that never over-exerted itself. Ethereal comes to mind. Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, anise, and a long sweet and savoury finish that fanned out like a peacock's tail. An amazing and unique vinous experience. |

1/12/2014 - Loren Sonkin wrote: 99 pointsAwesome Dinner with Friends (Erasmus, SQN, Saxum, Pride, Dehlinger++) (Out and about): Couldn't quite get to 100 on this, but this is a WOW wine. My first time trying this exalted vintage. The nose is beautiful. Perfumed and pretty. So feminine. Raspberries, a bit of charred wood, violets. On the palate, this is much bigger. So smooth and integrated. I would think a couple of years from peak perhaps. Powerful with raspberries and some strawberries and a slight ash note. Going back for a fresh pour at the end of the night, this had opened even more and was showing great complexity. At that point I almost changed my score to 100, but I had put the pen down by then. An almost unanimous WOTN. |

7/24/2014 - Zweder wrote: 99 pointsSQN vs C9duP and some extra's (@ PC): This wine really comes very close to perfection. Hardly made any notes because I was enjoying the wine and the company so much. The wine has a beautiful and lush, complex and refined bouquet with dark fruits, beautiful sweet spices and garrigue. Very harmonious, so everything comes back on the palate. A beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity, soft and integrated tannin with a pleasant bite. The wine has a great length. Can last until well in the 2020’s. Was this the best wine of the evening? Possibly, but I couldn’t decide. There were so many near to perfect wines. Do you find this review helpful? 4/24/2015 - andrewdodd86 Likes this wine: 99 pointsOld note - Earth, stone, wild fruit, fig, forest floor? Beautiful on the palate. Tastes different than it smells. Port like on the palate. Tinge of sweet fruit. Dark ruby red, herbs, dried flowers. Mind blowingly complex. Deserves the hype for sure. Do different, wild blueberry, black cherry. Goes on FOREVER. |
